Question for you gents with JDM vehicles.

How many of you actually top out at 180 km/h?

I have seen a few RX7's up at our local track here, the white one..negative. But then my good friends red one, looked liked it hit a brick wall and just..stopped.

I myself have never been to the track yet with my Celica GT-Four..but am curious if it will also seem like I hit a brick wall @ 180 km/h.

My ride is nearly 100% stock..only thing that it had when it came over was a turbo timer. A Blitz dual chamber blow off valve and boost gauge has been added..no engine mods though.

If there is (which I'm guessing there probably will be) how do I go about modifying this to take it out? Will tuning be needed?

Sorry if this sounds completely idiotic..But its just an honest question.

Pulse.
Did your MR2 have any noteable engine mods when it came over? Or was it pretty well untouched.

I've seen tons of JDM ECU's (Hondas) all govern 180km/h electronically. Not sure about your case specifically, but if I were you, I'd look into piggyback electronics to deal with it before a full standalone so you can avoid having to retune.

my aristo is limited to 180, but i read that taking out the traction control fuse eliminates that for my car.

You can eliminate the speed cut in most Toyota ECUs with some quick wiring changes. No piggybacks, or additional tuning is necessary. **edit: removed**

Unless of course you have an auto, then you just need a speed limit defender.

Edit: on second thought, I'm not going to post how it works on this forum.
