I was just curious as to what kind of experiences everyone has had importing JDM cars into Calgary.
I was thing J-Spec or Frontline.
Has anyone ever had any problems with either?

send a pm to japancar

I would seriously consider importing with him. his website is www.japancarexportsonline.com you have to wait a little but with the money you save its well worth it

Import Concern is a very good firm to import with as well!

From the two you have posted. I have never heard anything but good things coming from J-spec.

I have heard of Import being pretty good, but the cars they currently have in stock are a bit out of my price range, not by much.
The only reason i listed J-spec and Frontline are because those are the only two i know of that have got R32 GTS-4's available.
Which is kinda what i was looking at.
But i'm sorta looking at Fairlady's now.
Not sure, i'll keep my eyes out for more cars.
But thanks guys :)

Send the main guy from J-spec an email, and tell him exactly what you're interested in.

He has access to a LOT of cars that arent advertised on his site. He will literally go out of his way to find a car for you.

He sent me many many many different Celica GT-fours that he had access to, and not all were advertised on his site.

Goodluck with the hunt

What's so bad with Frontline?
The only sketchy issue i had with them is that on the auction sheet it stated major rust.
But i couldn't see any cosmetic rust, so i was worried about it being on the underbelly of the car frame.

I guess that's something you gotta deal with when importing though, you really can't get every detail you want

every single car that theyve brought in that my friends have bought have been the biggest pieces of shits no matter how clean they look

You get what you pay for, end of story.

There's no such thing as a good condition, cheap JDM.

My buddies gts-4 was like $7000 and it was good condition mechanically and cosmetically, in fact he ended up selling it for about a grand more than he paid.

That's usually how it goes with imports. People will pay to avoid the hassle of importing it themselves if it's already registered here.

yeah werd... i made 2.5 grand off my GTS-T when i imported it last year... the buyer just didnt want to go through the hassle...

I understand, but are you talking about cheap to import yourself, or cheap to buy off a lot here in Calgary?

If it's landed here and its cheap, something is probably up with the car.

Well i was looking at a $7600 GTS4 landing on November 16
I figured that seemed pretty decent. And i saw the auction sheet for it.
It looked ok.
The only thing is that it's not landed yet, if it stays on the lot for a bit they usually have it registered and mechanically inspected, correct?
