Saw this BMW today, I have no idea if its rare or not.

I was driving behind it and said to myself "wtf is an alpina?" So I took a pic haha.

The spokes are a little too much for me but the body is pretty nice.

Even rare for the most part on the other side of the pond too.

The spokes are an alpina tradition it seems. Think the body is nice? Should see the interior, or what they did to the engine,

0-60 in 4.4 and 1/4 mile in 12.8 is pretty good for a boat. but yea, i'll take the e63 amg instead.

I have a lot of trouble believing it is that fast. I drove it several times, and it didn't feel anywhere near that fast. I've driven lots of cars that are that fast, and this car was definitely much slower.

It is funny that the article says that a Flying Spur can't keep up.. it is significantly faster in my experience than the B7.

And you'd have to compare it to an S63 to be fair.. and it should be faster than an S63

Definatly no doubting you but...

Was that seat of the pants feel or track feel? The b7 is a heavier car that isolates you from the outside world in many ways so maybe the feeling of the S63 is more then that of the B7 even though the B7 is a quicker car?

Head's up race I guess would be the best :P

EDIT:
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o6JTR95mpFc&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o6JTR95mpFc&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Would definatly take the B7 over the 63 if I had family, but the 63 would make a fun as hell weekend car.

I drove the Flying Spur for a year and only drove the B7 a couple times (for about 2 hours total). I've driven a lot of 7 series and S Class cars, and this one just did not have the urgency that its power would suggest (purely seat of the pants), especially when compared to the S Class's powerful models (S55/S600/S65) that I have driven.

Isolation wise, it was much better connected to the road (IMHO) than the Flying Spur (which says a lot) so I was expecting it to feel more like a supercharged benz. I owned an SL55, so I know what the power should feel like going to the rear wheels.

The car might not have been sorted yet.. it was very low mileage (probably 3-4k) and might open up.

Strangely enough, I just drove a new S8 for the first time. Totally different than the Spur.. very nice motor.. not sure which one I like better. Great handling (steering was a bit loose, but acceptable), but the carbon brakes were very touchy.
