Lately I've been feeling alot of air pressure in my ears and it has also been affecting my hearing. Not 100% sure of the cause, but how does one usually treat this?

Thanks

Were you sick a couple days ago or still sick? If so it will pass.

No I haven't been sick lately (or sick enough to have noticeable symptoms). I sometimes get a sinus when the weather changes, so it might be related to that. Right now I feel fine though.

secret Divers trick.... Pinch your nose, close your mouth tight and try and blow out.. it will pressurize your head to the correct level. If you did it correctly your ears should pop just as if you were in a plane or going in the mountains.

This is taught to divers and they are told to use it every meter give or take; so there is no pain and you dont end up getting the benz.

Try doing it a couple times.. its 100% safe btw... your not going to hurt anything up there.. haha.

I must be weird or something, cause i can pop my ears by command, I dont have to hold my nose and blow out.

My wife had a problem with pressure in her ears during a day at the west ed waterpark.

the med center directed her to jump into the air and land on her heels, and repeat a few times. (on a hard floor)

maybe it can help you.

It could also be an ear infection. Thats the way mine started the last time I got one. Go get it checked out by a doctor.

sounds like you have small eustation tubes see a Doctor. If you have an ear infection they can put temporary tubes in to drain it.

I have shitty allergies once a year, and sometimes get that year round... I have been told by my doctor that it is related to allergies... had my ears checked out and everything. It is super annoying when it happens... but at least its nothing too bad.

When you blow out while pinching your nose and closing you mouth, try to blow out with your nose, not your mouth.

YOu can try hitting a holistica store and getting an ear wax cleaning kit (candle etc.) that may help

I had this same problem recently as well. They sent me to a specialist who did all kinds of tests. Turned out the problem was that my ears had NO wax in them. So they would get irritated easily by wind, cold weather, etc. I thought the problem was Air pressure too as thats what it felt like.

The solution was to swab them with 3% hydrogen peroxide. So you can try that and see if it solves your problem.

Your sinuses if they get blocked can end up causing your ears to feel like you have water in them. Swelling in your sinuses can cause blockage in your eustachian tubes. Just take some decongestinants like Advil Cold&Sinus it will make the swelling of your sinuses go down and cause your sinuses to clear. Spend an hour or two with your head dangling off the side of your bed where you can feel stuff starting to flow down your throat. It's normal for this to happen if you get your sinuses blocked :\
