View Full Version : Would this help young drivers slow down?

I'm an advocate for the bloodiest photos to discourage reckless behavior, in particular on the road. I've seen some scary things in school as far as cathetered penises and open chests. This had me thinking, why not bring the death to the kids faces? So my idea is to get youth in highschool to have a nose bleed, and put it in a cup. Then two weeks later, have a emergency room doctor present, and have the youth view and smell their rotting blood.

I know this is extreme, but the smell of their blood rotting is likely to bring home how fragile life is to these racers.

Thoughts?

They used to try that scared straight shit back in school with bloody videos, and bla bla bla, but seriously look at the movies we watch these days, hostel, etc, do you honestly think that would do anything to curb racing? I think you would get a "cool, that reeks" more than you would get "ill never race again"

I guess some people would have some kind of epiphany at the smell of themselves rotting..

^ yeah buddy, your pretty gross. :barf: If I ever saw pics of people dying and so forth when I was in highschool, I wouldn't be the slightest affected towards changing my driving habits. In fact I honestly wouldn't care. About a month ago my best friends GF was best friends with that Calgarian girl whose car flipped on that Montana highway, landed upside down in a canel and drowned, along with her 6 year old daughter: Mercedes.....

accidents just happen man. Whats recklous for me is very different then whats recklous for some hideously inexperienced driver that has NO idea what he/she is doing, or how handle the car at high speed collision avoidance manuevers.
I feel perfectly comfortable at high speeds. And I also know full well what happen at those speeds in the event of an accident, but even posted speed limits are too much for SOME drivers, so why would this gore being paraded around do much of anything worthwhile?
what I think would make a big difference is ALL new drivers regardless of age being essentially forced to pass these comprehensive driving courses that promote skillful driving.
Take a look at Germany with their autobahns, whats their accident rate per capita in relation to ours?
Speed doesn't kill... its dumbass drivers that have not a frickin clue in the world what their doing on a bike/car/truck or whatever it is that their on:thumbsup:

I reminded you guys about how you'll rot and turn to dust and you've turned it around and told me I'm the gross one.

Obviously I'm at least of average intelligence given that I own a car, so I bet this happens to a lot of guys.

Having a cathetar was one of the worst, and most horrible parts of my 6 month hospitalization due to driving like an asshole.

Just thought i'd share.

okay im in high school and even though i dont drive fast or dangerously (accept at the track) im pretty sure someone intentioally making my nose bleed and putting it a fucking jar for 2 weeks and then smelling it wouldnt change my driving style.
straight up.. what were you thinking when you thought this up?

the police gave me tranquilizers so i made my nose bleed to try to get it out of my head and then i forgot about it and it smelled terrible. Then I thought this was an important experience in existentialism.

Not sure how old you are, but they showed us some gruesome car crash footage in Health class back in Jr. High. With things so PC nowadays, I doubt they could get away with that... :poosie:

Aliquot, i think this is a brilliant idea. I would suggest preparing a presentation, and presenting it to the head of your local Jr. High and be sure to let us know how it goes.
BTW I would collect the cup of blood now so that by the time the presentation is ready you can also show them the cup of old smelly blood so they know you're not crazy.

Uh... yeah.. ban.

No we talk about plenty of "horizon broadening" stuff, I'm rarely on here to talk about cars myself. But some of the "enlightening" stuff we talk about per se somehow doesn't include coagulating blood, rotting..... then rotting into dust, and stuff like that.

Were not a bunch of death-obscessed goths.. honestly. That whole concept of what happens after death has been a well discussed topic back in elementry school, so I think it'll take a lot more moving and intergral things in our lives to use a "tool" (if you will) to get kids to not drive like "Cunts" as you like to use. :banghead:

I always wanted a speed bike but wifey was afraid of me getting into an accident. She works at the hospital so I was able to take a tour of a unit where a whole bunch of bikers got into an accident. After seeing these injured dudes, I decided not to get one. I'll just get a fast car.
