LOL so did I.
I live in the S.W and I found my cleaning company called the domstic army. there 35$ an hour and I get them for 3 hours every 2 weeks.

$35 /hr is a bargain.

Also I never really understood charging by the hour for this type of work, in theory after she does your place a few times she will know her way around/where to clean/what you like.

As a result the cleaning should take LESS time as she gets more accustom, and she would be making less money over time instead of more.

Flat rates for the win.

Ok well I pay a flat rate every 2 weeks. I guess it's dependant on the size of your house and what you need done.

The first time they (2 ladies) came they cleaned the entire house (~1800 sq. ft) in about 3 hours and the cost was about $150 - $180 (can't remember). Since then they come every 2 weeks for one hour and it costs $100. I found alot of places that charge only $30-$40 an hour but the minimum is usually 3 hours. So paying $100 for 2 ladies to clean everything in 1 hour is about the same.

On occasion they have taken longer than 1 hour and the charge is the same ($100). So I guess it's actually a flat rate.

If anyone is interested I can get post the contact info this evening.

Haha i pay my cleaning lady 100 bucks for 8 hour shifts once a week. I'll see if i can find some other ones or if my cleaning lady has time. The best is when you find the ladies that just moved here from over seas they usually work hella hard and dont' mind the pay because it alot more that what they make back home.

To go a little off topic, when you have someone clean your house, what is usually done?

How do you let them in the house? Do you give them a key? Do you make sure you are home?

you usually make sure your home or someone is home, and you basically tell them what you want clean. Laundry, kitchen, dusting, all the stuff you don't have time for.
