Wow, the C63 is a porker!

rage2

12.3@116 lol. That's awesome. C63 FTW!

Curb weight on C63 includes 1 more passenger compared to M3 I believe.

benyl
10-30-2007, 02:33 PM
That is still heavier than the AWD RS4.

Haha, it still whoops ass.

Wonder if there is a waiting list yet? Pricing info?

Eleanor
10-30-2007, 04:39 PM
k maybe i'm a total n00b but why are the 5-60mph times slower than the 0-60s?

benyl
10-30-2007, 04:45 PM
Cause at 5mph in first gear, you are at 2000 rpm.

0-60, you launch at 4-6000 rpm.

Power band.

Edit: Notice how the two stick shift cars have a larger difference than the automatic (C63)? The torque converter can be a help, as well as a hindrance.

^^^ Because you can't launch.

I find it funny how these magazines favor the BMW's once again. Last time around, the C32 was too soft and the BMW was just right. This time around, the C32 is too harsh, and the BMW has softened up but is still a race car. Too funny!

M3 for me. I love the RS4 and C63 but this is probably the best M3 yet. Its the best looking in my opinion.

Just an honest question, I have no idea what the reason is but: M3 coupe vs sedans? Why compare a coupe to a sedan?

I've seen it done many times before but it's always been my biggest annoyance with M3 comparisons. It's the same old BMW propaganda, "ooo, bmw coupe beats another sedan again." If the M3 is a sports coupe, then compare it to other sports coupes.

I'd be WAY more interested to see how the M3 SEDAN fairs against the RS4 and C63. My ideal luxury-sedan comparison would be (once they're all available): M3 Sedan vs. RS4 vs. C63 vs. IS-F

And yes, that C63 is a powerhouse!

I'd love any of these 3 cars in my garage.

yah the m3 is nice and light which is cool..

three.eighteen.

as good as the m3 looks, i would have to argue, it's the ugliest m3 ever, hopefully seeing one in person will change my mind

Specs like those really make me want to mod my car. lol

SilverRex
10-31-2007, 12:12 PM
are those numbers estimates? because the last time I Thought the C63 was around 4.5s 0-60, man 3.9s is pretty darn quick for a sedan. and if the car comes in around 70k cad, that would be the best bang for the buck performence vehicle of this era.

I believe the C6 Z06 is faster than that. But still, really good performance and luxury for $70,000..

^^^ you see, the sedan just makes it a hell of a lot easier for me to convince my wife its a family car. lol :D

I just got confirmation from my guy MB Vancouver that shipping of the C63 will begin in April. Deposits taken....including mine!

Really? You get rid of the 911? 4000lbs seems too much for a car in this class. I'll have to drive them all, but I think I am going to get an M3 cab.

The current issue of european car has a great read on the m3 vs the rs4. They LOVED the rs4. The were some dissapointments with the m3. They said it lost its crazyness. And sitting it it, felt nothing special like the last one. Couldent tell if you were in a 335 or the new m3.

But he the M3 V8 engine weighed 33 pounds LESS then the old V6. I thought that was pretty awesome.

But over the said the 90% of people could drive the rs4 faster no problem. And if the roads were even slightly damp, the rs4 would always win do to its awesome awd.
But, if you were in that 10% who knows how to drive very well, and how to properly controll the new M3. You would be able to slightly out pace the rs4. It was a great read.

That's what I was thinking as well. I love the look of the new C63...

I'm really not sure right now... I was thinking about a RS4 but now am leaning towards the C63...

The rs4 will be disscontinued as of november. But audi is going back to the drawing bord and making a all new audi for 08 or 09. They will go back to their V6 twin turbos.

The new M3 cab is expected to be over 4000lbs.

The old M3 cab is kinda heavy too at 3700ish.

I was talking about the M3 Coupe. I'd like a retractable hardtop again cause Calgary's climate sucks donkey nuts. Sort of between an M3 coupe/cab/911 turbo

I'll get a sports car for summer.

I think the new M3 is haggard from pics i've seen, but
i really like the E46 BMW M3's.

and I don't think the C63 is that bad looking? :dunno:
looks like all Mercedes.

E36M3: Yeah sold the Carrera 4 back in late '06 when I moved to Van. I am a sedan guy at heart and the C63 has me hot and bothered. I LOVE the W204 redesign, much nicer than the E90/E92 but that is only my opinion!

SilverRex: I live in Vancouver now and I will more than likely buy from Alberta but I wanted info and the guy at MB Van is good..who knows where I decide to buy.

As for MSRP he speculated $70K

Tenorite or Germanite Grey C63 w/ pano and nav FTMFW.

the new 3 series and m3 body style is :barf:
i think the m3 sedan looks better then the coupe actually, if i had a choice between the 3 it would be the RS4 hands down

I don't mind the looks of the new 3. It's subtle, nice sleeper. I dunno why you'd pick the RS4, it's so slow. If I wanted something that slow, I'd buy a used M3 lol. C63 with sports package (finally LSD!!!) for me! haha.

I'm not getting one, sorry to disappoint you and your gay thoughts LOL. If I had to choose between the 3, it'd be C63. I can't live without the convertible factor... need my summer tan!

If anything, it'd be SLK63 for me. But I'm seriously having way too much fun with the SMG, even tho it's a slow hunk o' crap!

What is this holding hands thing all about?
:barf: :barf: :barf:

Back on topic!

Where was the IS-F in the comparisons? Lexus chickened out or the car wasn't ready?

The C63 is a monster of a car. Loving the power numbers!

I'm hoping to pick up a used one :D

I dont know why caranddriver didnt include the IS-F as they performed an individual test on it

http://www.caranddriver.com/shortroadtests/14266/tested-2008-lexus-is-f.html

Motortrend and Edmunds also have done reviews on the car. I dont think Edmunds likes it much at all...or has a bias towards another brand. Said the ride quality is harsh and wants it to be more civilized (so more conservative which has been the knock against Lexus before? ).
Edmunds also did a comparo with the RS4 where the RS4 wins. But the RS4 numbers tend to jump around. Getting a 0-60 that is 0.5 seconds faster than when they did an individual test for it.

Anyways...they are all great cars. C63 is definitely the monster of the group.
M3 in white. C63 in black. IS-F in blue. RS4 in orange :D
