I have a week left to back out of a contract I signed.
It was with Alberta Energy Savings.
I signed on for $10 gas and electricity was what the current rate is.

$10 is high and gas don't look like it's going anywhere...
Any thoughts?

Natural Gas Rates (http://www.directenergy.com/EN/Alberta/MMC/Pages/Reg/GAS/HistoricNaturalGasRates.aspx)

Simply put... No, I wouldn't.

Makes no sense to lock in at a rate which is double when current rates are half that.

They give you a better rate on energy, but you get bent over on gas. Who comes out ahead in the end? Not the consumer.

LNG is going to fuck shit right up for Alberta by capping NG prices at around $7... or at least that's what I've been hearing.

Energy bill soars for woman after signing contract (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/2007/03/29/gas-contracts.html) with Alberta Energy Savings.

Energy-marketing company racks up half of all utility complaints (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/story/2007/03/30/alberta-utility.html). GUESS WHAT COMPANY?

I don't think gas is in short supply and government will probably step in if rate goes up. So don't lock gas.

Electricity? Lock that shit up. There'll be a surge of demand about to drive up electricity cost in this province. Most building operators for downtown towers already sign on long term contracts.

You haven't even been here for a day, and all I see is retarded posts. +2 for background checks when registering for the forum.

Yeah dude, $10 is high, back out!
I'm going to have to agree with the rest though and lock your electricity.
