I wouldn't personally because I am not a fan of domestics, but I think it's a good lookig car and a huge improvement over the current car.

I wouldn't, I hate most domestics.... the Only Dodge car I like is the Viper... And there are alot more cars in the world that I would get before a Viper

I don't really mind, I'm not one to really judge or hate critically on cars...

Looks alot better with the viper headlights, but i'm still not a huge fan of domestics either. Wouldn't be my first choice of car if i was in its price range thats for sure.

you sure you aren't picturing neon tail lights getting further and further ahead of you :D ;)

i have heard a rumor that next years srt-4 will get the stage 1 mopar upgrade package and LSD standard, but somehow i doubt it :(

why do you doubt it? most of you guys doubted it was even gonna make it to production...

I'd never pay money for it...if I won it or something I'd drive it...but I'd have to tint the windows real dark so nobody could see it was me. ;)

A stock turbocharged neon... who would have thought this was possible years ago ? Dodge definitely pulled a fast one on the competition, now it's everybody elses turn to catch up. This is only good for us consumers :D Personally I wouldn't buy one but I'd love to take it out for a rip!

rice_eater
07-14-2003, 07:09 PM
guy...it's history repeating itself...when the neon first came out with the 132 and 150 hp versions honda and most other compacts back then were barely hanging around the 100-120 hp mark...

DonJuan

I'd drive it... I love beatin the crap out of cars that arn't mine. I'll admit it looks mean, but it's runnin like 15psi and no turbo timer from the factory, so it's gonna be driven like hell and then turned off as the oil in the turbo boils!. but then again, domestics arn't supposed to last that long anyway.:rofl:
M = more
O = old
P = parts
A = are
R = required

The upgrade package will be available as an option.

You can purchase the Stage 1 and LSD now.

Don't forget there is stage 2 and 3 that will soon be available.

10 psi according to a couple mags i've read, but having a turbo with no turbo timer really isn't that bad.

the liquid portion of the turbo isn't designed to cool the turbo (except for idleing maybe) but rather regulate heat. in all honesty, driving around relularly (no boost) for a couple minutes before you park would be fine and keep your turbo running a LONG time. why do you think you see turbo dodges with factory t3's making it hundreds of thousands of km's without killing the turbo.

oh yea, the stock turbo would be the one of the first things to go after the wing, dual exhaust, and stock height springs ;)

stage 3 with 300/300 hp/tq.

i wouldn't bother with the factory packages though, there are some good components, but others could be replaced with much better aftermarket units.

Backed by factory warranty why bother. :angel: It's already proven that it can handle the abuse of Road Racing and SCCA Pro Rally.

Yeah I guess it's the sport compact version of horsepower wars :D Speaking of neons, I followed a blue one this past weekend in the NW with a full roll cage, stripped interior and smallish black rims. Super loud exhaust too... a hardcore autocrosser possibly? Definitely not your basic neon, didn't look too bad at all...

I was just refering to the styling smililarities of the new wrx headlights to those of the viperon the neon. Maybe i'm just pissed off and tired of being called a neon, when i drive a rex! But you have to admit, that piece of shit sx2.0 does copy the wrx lots!

Other way around;)

That SRT-4 looks killer.

And Boost Infested, I'll take that bet, but I'll bet you I'll have an SRT-4 at my house and I'll be driving it, even if it is only on the rollers.:D ;)

You mean you don't drive a neon?:D Perhaps you should start blaming the unimaginative Subaru designers for trying to copy another manufacturer design. ;)

Stock for stock the SRT4 wins. Lighter, more hp, more torque, and 2 less wheel to drive.

yup...proven time and time again by all the magazines...now if they improved the suspension a bit too then you would want your WRX to be called a neon! Or you can stick to your idea that your REX is the king of the jungle and wonder why you keep losing to these POS neons :D

Haha, well said! Wasn't it just a few years ago that subaru was a low to mid ranged car offering only a good all wheel drive system with terrible styling? LOL, now it is the mad tightest car yo!

SRT4 is second only to the viper (performance wise) in dodge's lineup this year..

Its fast but this is how you make it faster:

T3T04E turbo with ceramic coated exhaust housing
wastegate
boost controller
nitrous junk
Mopar Stage 1
Blackdog ceramic coated turbo manifold
Blackdog ceramic coated 3" downpipe
Blackdog powder coated intercooler pipes
Blackdog 3" exhaust
