anyone else seen this show?
spent whole saturday morning watching the whole season 1 of 12 episodes and have to say one of the best show in a while especially considering its a 30min show.

Californication is a Showtime 12-part series production created by Tom Kapinos and starring David Duchovny as Hank Moody, a troubled novelist whose move to Los Angeles and problems with his job complicate the relationships with his ex-girlfriend Karen (Natascha McElhone) and daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin)


past the many sex scenes on ep1-3 you'll find it has a great story that can be true to life sometimes.

David Duchovny is a great actor too. He doesn't make me think Fox Mulder at all. Can't wait till season 2, even though season 1 just ended.

wow soo yea...i just started watching this show last night...im already on ep 7. this is such a great show!

its easily comparable to entourage IMO.

But I was wondering how long it was going to take the Red Hot Chili Peppers to call their lawyers over the title---which, as we all know, is the title of a both a Peppers' album and song.

A lawsuit was filed yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court. It alleges that Showtime and others violated federal trademark law but appropriating that title. Court documents state that their album and song achieved "extraordinary critical and commercial recognition." Anthony says that Californication' is the group's "signature CD, video and song of the band's career. For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right."

So what do they want? They're demanding that the show to stop using the name--and turn over any profits it made thus far.

Smells like an out of court settlement to me.

The season ended too sweet for my taste. Would have been more interesting the other way. Especially for season 2.

I hate TV shows in general passionately but I watched the pilot over at a friends house this summer on vacation and was hooked!

Super funny show- great chicks and cool story line.

I am just getting to the end of season one and am awaiting season 2.

I think this show is a LOT like 'Rescue Me', just as brilliant. I know Denis Leary has been hit and miss for people over the years, but he's found his niche here, which is picking up in other forms like Californication, which is just a brilliant in it's own way. And I'm not just talking about all the hot chicks...but let me just say that there are many hot chicks in both of these shows, and they get worked :bigpimp:

Good Show. i just cant get into David Duchovny. He is the biggest asshole. 2 years ago he was in Vancouver at the sound studio I was working at and he had to do some ADR. (additional dialogue recording). He refused to do most of his lines, and spazed out saying his time is too valuable to re-do his own work...Never seen a man act like such a bitch...Actors i guess..

Hank's back and his luck hasn't changed a bit. Episode 1 of season 5 has been leaked and as a huge fan of the show I was not disappointed at all. Be aware that this season is set almost 3 years after the end of last season. I'm not a big fan of time shifts like that but this one worked for me.

I hope it gets better as they haven't been as good as season 1 and 2. The last couple of episodes were alright, but not amazing. The Charlie story line is dumb. I don't imagine the show will be one past this season.

I just wish Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy were back on. Its great when you pickup a new series you like and have 4 seasons worth of shows to go through, but once your caught up the wait sucks.

Shows like this are always going to be more of the same, but I feel less like Hank is his own man in this series and is letting others boss him around, and it's a lot less entertaining.
I'm thinking Karen will end up fucking the british rock star and Hank will be sad then it will end, this one or the next should be the last season if they want the show to end while it's still decent
