Hey just wondering what clubs everyone is going to.

I'm looking for some suggestions for Mauy Thai classes that I can join. I dont have any previous experince, so some where with beginners classes would be good.
Ive trained with Mike Myles before and would prefer not to go with him. So any other suggestions would be great!

bdb is a badass gym, lots of people is the only problem.

Yeah, when I started at BDB it wasn't too many people.. but then it blew up and a general muay thai class had about 30-40 people in it.

Try BDB its free for the first two weeks ( or atleast when I went it was)

They do alot of different fighting styles :

muay thai/ kick boxing
capoeria
judo
wrestling
brazilian jiu jitsu
conventional weight training

The rates aren't that bad either. Its something like

99$ start up fee for everyone.

3 months - 300$-400$ can't really remember.

6 months - 5oo$-$700

Year - 75$ a month (probably the best deal cause there are classes 7 days a week that you can go to)

BDB here too.

I've been lazy and haven't been going either. I agree that lots of people on Tue/Thu hasn't been good, though. It ends up being too much technique and not enough actual exercise, at least for me. I liked drills/stations better. There are monday/wednesday afternoon classes that are supposed to be pretty empty, if you can make those. Who teaches on Saturdays? troy?

also, I think I'm paying $60 a month, but I signed up for yearly back in... 2003? a long time ago. prices have gone up since.

Drills and such are good. it's too packed on weekdays for it now.

Hey nelson. SO WHAT.:banghead:

I think Troy teaches sometimes, Nick shows up.

Or fuck.. I don't even know anymore I havent been since.... June?

Hey Nelson, did troy lose his last fight?

Haha, possibly. I haven't been going regularly for over a year now, I think. Just occasional tuesday or thursday. I'm a lazy ass.

TimG, do you know malcolm? does he teach there?

TimG

I kind of know Malcolm - more by having mutual friends than knowing him personally. No, he doesn't teach there. This school isn't affiliated with AJJA or GMA. there are two instructors at Hamon and the classes are small so there's lots of personal attention.

This isn't a for-profit McDojo. we just charge enough to cover rent and to pay for equipment.
