Why do Asians Feel the Need to Let World Know they are Asain?

Did a quick search and I couldn't find anything on this topic.

Here is my question why do Asian people feel the need to let everyone know they are Asian?
Every time I log on any video game I come across multiple people with names like AZN*Insert something cool*. There are multiple members on beyond with AZN or its variants in their account names. Also some new guy joined and his member name is "iamkorean". This just seems weird to me. I am white and don't understand this. Please all you Asian beyond members enlighten me.

This is a pretty basic concept with a basic answer. People like to identify themselves, sometimes with a certain group. In this case, being asian is a pretty central aspect of some peoples' lives, so it makes sense if they want to identify themselves to others like that.

Some people use their names in their username, some people use the car they drive to identify themselves, and some people just use seemingly random words that hold significance to them.

It's not surprising that an asian in a white country, being constantly reminded of their asianness, would want to identify themself as an asian. :dunno:

Now as for the spelling of "aZn"...well that's just immaturity.

Oh, that then brings up another matter: Is there a "white" culture anyway?

Last I checked people who are of Caucasian descent who do reside here in North America could have drawn their genetic stock from a great number of European ancestors.

So that said, I think there are about as many Asians going about "whooo, Azn pryde yo", as there are people who celebrate being Irish, English, Scottish, Czech, French, Scandinavian, Russian, German ...Or any other of the European states for that matter with their own distinct culture.

As well, "Asian" is a more welcome blanket statement
than "Euro", hence why falls into it's usage much more easily.

I mean, consider:

"Euro". Euro what? Southern Europe? Mediterrenean? Eastern? Scandinavian? where? You have to specify to be understood, otherwise you get browbeat for not knowing your European GEography.

But then say "Asian" and it's enough. You don't have to say where exactly. People would take it as it is.
