its Friday and my mind is on the weekened, weekend on my mind.... anyways just after reading a few other stories on the forum decided to share one of my fave traffic stories - btw its not really about road rage or anything like that.

so a while back i turned on to Shagnappi S from edgemont blvd and notice a radar trap set up across the road to catch speeders goin up the hill northbound on Shag. I'm basically picking my gf up from work and then going home right after so i make a mental note of the trap. So on the way home on John Laurie west bound i approach the Shag turnoff. This douche in a Benz suv is tailgating me the whole time on John Laurie while i was going speed limit. Given how its rush hour i'm not about to pull over and let him pass so he's tailing me hardcore. Like most people i fvcking hate tailgaters and on the Shag turnoff to go north I purposely slow down on the ramp.... So finally when he has room to pass me going North on Shag, the older guy driving screams by and is yelling in his car and flips me the bird. Im not really pissed and tell my gf to 'watch this'..... As I approach the top of the hill at the Edgemont turnoff, benz douche is pulled over to the side by the cops. and meanwhile I drive slowly by and flash him a smile.

Many years ago I got cut off BAD by a Ford Escort on Memorial Dr NW heading downtown. So I honked, changed lanes, gave him the finger. For whatever reason he got really pissed that an asian driver gave him the finger for poor driving  so he decided to follow me presumably to kick my ass. The next turn off was the Crowchild S turnoff so I took it and he followed. I was heading downtown, so I floored it and took the bow trail turnoff at 9/10ths. He understeered into the curb and crashed behind me.

Never fuck with a guy that knows how to drive .

YEARS back, after I graduated high school, I went into seismic, for those that don't know, some jobs can be over a days driving from eachother, and we traveled in a convoy of about 7-10 1 ton trucks with the huge cage/racks in the back.

This one particular travel day, we were in the mountains on a 2 lane highway, and this little punk was trying to get around us VERY dangerously, he kept trying to pass on double solid yellows, on blind corners, and when oncoming traffic was WAY too close. A couple of oncoming cars had to drive off the pavement because of this little sh!t.

So after he passed the 4th or 5th truck, my buddy called ahead on the C.B to the nextx trucks about him. Everytime he tried passing dangerously the truck ahead of the one he was trying to pass would move over, making it impossible for him to go. We let him pass only when it was a dotted line, and what we thought safe to do so. It took him about 20 minutes to get to the front of the line, and he was FLIPPING when he finally did. He even brake checked the front guy.

We all had a good laugh at it, then as we approached the next gas station, he was there filling up, GLARING at us all, but not saying a word. Turned out the gas station had run out of diesel, so off we went , ahead of this guy again, lol.

Because he brake checked the last truck he passed, we decided to only let him by when it was REALLY REALLY safe to do so, lol, it took him over 20 minutes just to get passed 3 trucks before we finally hit our turn off and he kept going straight.

Ahh, good fun. We also used this proceedure a lot whenever there was a car of hot girls that were cruising by. They never seemed to mind as much, most girls seem to like 40 jugheads gawking at them, lol.

I left the light at crowchild tr x 24 ave nw once and some guy in a black grand prix and tinted windows thought it would be cool to cut me off and speed really fast ahead of me. I wouldn't have had a problem with it except for the fact that he gave me a dirty look, and mouthed me off. So I decided being the conservative and conscientious citizen that I am to call CPS on him. Basically told the CPS he was driving recklessly and speeding. Moron turns off south at Sarcee Trail of into Silver Springs and by the time I turned off there going north, I saw a cop with its cherries on chasing buddy down and pulling him over.

---

Another time on Sarcee Trail going downhill at John Laurie, I was first at the light with an Acura Legend. Back then I had an Eagle Talon, so he wanted to street race me. But as I looked ahead, I noticed something flourescent peeking behind tat soundproof wall a couple hundred meters away. So Legend decides to rev it up and whatnot, so I follow suit, pretending that I'd race him. As the light turned green, he booked it out of there like a fat kid chasing a twinkie and I basically drove normally, and by the time he noticed the speed trap, he was already being motioned to be pulled over.

I was heading west on Crowchild, stopped at the front of the line of traffic for a red light at Stoney Trail. This intersection has some really bad problems with people turning left after their advance has turned red because they don't want to wait for the next light.

I'm stopped, waiting to head straight through, and both sets of left turners from Crowchild to Stoney have their advance greens, so I have cars turning in front of me from Crowchild East to Stoney north while I wait at my red light.

My light turns green, one guy runs the red and turns left in front of me.. pretty normal... a second guy runs the red and turns left in front of me while I sit at a green light... okay, this is annoying, now I see a third guy coming, and I have enough space that I pin it, so I'm in the path of his turn, then stop. He has to slam on his brakes and stop, meanwhile the lane beside me that is also going straight starts flowing, so this fuck face is completely stuck in the middle of the intersection with a huge line of cars behind him, so he can't back up, and traffic going straight through on either side of him. He is shouting up a storm, fingering me and spazzing. I just point up to my green light then continue on through the intersection :D

Interesting thread. My favourite thing to do is:

When I know people are gonna run the red after their advance (like in front of chinook going south on macleod), I purposely go in the rightest lane and as SOON as my light turns green no matter what I punch it.

This always makes the guy running the light slam on his brakes in the middle of the intersection, and I proceed thru, while the other 2 lanes beside me sit and honk at the dick for blocking traffic... maybe next time they'll think twice before running a red.

^^ theres been a few accidents there cause of that.. i would be careful

the only story i can really tell is...

one night i was driving my car and had my cousin in the next seat, we were turning onto glenmore east bound from the automall, and that lane is a merge, while i tried to merge but this old guy in his g35 wouldn't let me, i sped up so did he, i slowed down and so did he, soon enough i ran out of space and had to slam on my breaks before i went into the curb.. in the lane next to this asshat there was a cop watching everything.. well after some cars passed and i could get going, just down the road the cop pulled the guy over, i can only imagine it was to give him a ticket for what he just saw

Yah. I'd be careful,,...AND if anything happened (assumingly you weren't the one running the red) and you got t-boned, get the names/numbers of witnesses immediately! definitely helps your insurance settlement.

down south on 90th ave. + 24th st. i was in my prelude and up pulled a young high school kid in a brand new explorer w/ bed (not sure what the car is actually called). he had some girls in the car and wanted to show off and race... i know the area pretty well and could see a cop car parked behind a bus bench further down the road. i looked over and laughed a bit and when it went green he floored it and tore off. he must have been going 110 - 120 in a 60 zone, and almost ran the cop over when he walked into the road to stop this kid.

must have been a huge fine.

damn, another one!

same place, there is a crosswalk, a guy in a dark blue rx7 saw me and my old gf step foot into the crosswalk but gunned it. opposite way, paddywagon driving. i pointed to the guy, both cops waved, u-turn and chased him down. those tix are $575!

headin up to the slopes in a snowstorm, on a very windy road I was going about 35 km/h. Some dude in a celica was honking and tailing and fingering me and all those nice stuff, anyways after enough of this, there is a lane to pull over for whatever reson and I let the dude pass, 20 minutes later as I am about .4 km from the destination I see this asshat in like a 5 foot ditch in the side of the road and his car laying on the passenger side with the bottom facing traffic. I stop at the scene, give him a smile and say, ever heard about the tortis and the hare? the guy just snapped and I continued on my way

like I said above,...get the names/#'s/statements from witnesses if you get t-boned from a red light runner. cos if u dont,..its a case of he said she said, and that could go on forever. In that story, the guy turning technically is at fault cos he didnt obey the red light

^ Actually you're supposed to yield to any car that's already in the intersection. However the fact that the light is red would might cause it to sway either way.

Probably depends on who t-boned who...

If he t-bones you, then you were probably there first. If you t-bone him, you'll be at fault. So moral of the story is - make sure you get there before him!

Personally I can't stand those guys that turn left on red lights - like that. Cops turn a blind eye to them too - they'll plow through an intersection like that with a cop waiting there and the cop won't do anything about it.

99% chance it'll be considered an "Unsafe left turn" and the guy turning will get dinged. I'd assume the only way it won't be is if the guy going straight enters the intersection on a red light.

Quite a few years ago I was driving out to BC with my wife, we were passing through the Kamloops area which is notorious for police and radar traps so we never speed near that town. Were doing the speed limit, maybe a touch over and this older guy in a Ford Taurus starts riding our ass. It is a two lane highway only and pretty curvy in some parts so passing illegally is pretty hard(to do safely).

We got tired of his antics and pulled to the shoulder to let him by, he speeds off around us and gives us the finger. We drive on and about 7 or 8 minutes later see him ahead pulled over by the cops, we honked and smiled as we drove by. Was probably a ticket for 25 over or so.

back when I lived in Cochrane, i Used to live in a division called West Terrace. to get to my house, you had to drive past mitford school, which had one of the longest school zones ever.

So, heading home, was driving past the school, doing 30kph, and a guy in a beamer got so close behind me that i could only see the back portion of his roof over my tailgate. (i used to drive a lifted chevy truck with 40" tires on it). now remember this is a school zone, solid yellow line, 1 lane of traffic each way, at about 12:30 in the afternoon with kids everywhere. The guy decides to pass me.

:banghead:

since we were approaching an intersection, threw on my left turn signal, and timed it just right so that when i turned left, i ran the front of the bimmer over. both vehicles came to rest with my front driver's side tire almost in the middle of his hood.

guy starts screaming at me and threatens to sue me and calls the cops. They show up, look at the scene, shake thier head and calm the guy down. one of the cops comes and talks to me. I tell him the story, cop gives me a knowing smile and walks off. They ended up arresting the guy, and i overheard that it was just to make his life a bit more hellish.

cops told me I could leave after the tow truck came to seperate the vehicles. i asked why and said I could just drive away, my truck didn't even have a scratch from this. Backed my truck off the bimmer and went home.

On saturaday i drove my car to BC to put it into storage for the winter, driving down on the 22 and all of a sudden there a cop sitting on the side of the road, no radar or anything, but he gives me a look as i drive past (Im a young guy in a Red Mustang its expected) and my buddies are driving behind me, a couple minutes later i get a call from them saying the cop is following us and slowly catching up. So i come up to the turn off onto the number 3, turn on and go the speed limit knowing the cop is gonna be coming behind me soon, some middle aged women in a white subaru come rocketing up behind me after i turn but its double yellow so she aint passing, My buddies turn onto the number 3 with the cop right behind them, (big straight stretch, very small hills) first passing opportunity comes, lady blows past me and fingers me as she does, i start laughing and give her a smile, look in the rearview, cop blows past my friends and is catching up to me real fast, passes me and pulls the lady over (she was easily doing 140-150) in a 100 zone, so i of course slow to 60 like your supposed to when i cop has his lights on and she gives me a look of death when i pass lol

I got a left hand turn story... no revenge though:(

It happened on 130th Ave...the shopping area. I had to cross 130th. I am getting close to the intersection, and the light is red for me...but the green arrow is flashing for the guys turning left. The light turns green for me, and a solid green for them. I am still a bit far from the intersection so the first guy has time to make the turn. Then the second guy makes the turn, I had to slow down a bit to let him go. Now I am half way through the intersection when this bitch decides he can make the turn right in front of me ...and I see that for some fucking reason she is looking down and not on the road. I give give her a bit of the honk action, and she slams on the brakes... she was only a few feet from my door. As I am driving by her and giving her a dirty look, I noticed that the dumb bitch was reading a book.:guns:

I always get upset when I see police driving like retards because they should be setting an example. So I was turning left onto McKnight one time, I'm in the intersection waiting to turn when the light turns orange, then red. Then a police car decides that he doesn't need to stop even though I'm sitting in the middle of the intersection. I gave him a good 6 second honk right in his eyeball as he passed me. I've never felt better...

Well... this one time at band camp.....

jokes
When this happens to me at night time, I pay attention to what the douche's light is about to do, and if its about to turn red then I get ready to flash my highbeams at the guy. So as he goes barrelling through the intersection running the red, I give him/her a good shot of high-beam lovin'. :dunno:

I remember i was driving home from work westbound on John Laurie, and i was passing under the 14th street bridge, when this car was tailing me... He changes lanes and starts tailing the other guy beside me. Seeing as he couldn't get by... i speed up a little and he changes lanes again getting behind me. .. both times tailing me and the driver beside me, following pretty damn close i might add... I was driving about 80km/h same with the car beside me.. so i speed up (i'm in the left lane), and change into the right lane infront of the person that was beside me. and this asshole flies by me and gives me the death stare... Then i notice it's a parking patrol car... so whatever i keep driving... so when i come up to brisbois drive, i see flashing lights behind me and this cop comes flying by me doing about 150... next thing i know i'm coming up to the Shaganappi intersection and low and behold the parking patrol guy is pulled over hahaha... some funny stuff... Not really sure how the cop was on to him... but regardless the retard got pulled over... this made me happy cause i had a shit load of parking tickets at the time...

I was driving on Deerfoot already speeding doing about 110-120. This truck comes screaming behind me and flashes his highs. Yes normally I would move over, but I mean there was already traffic out, and i was already doing around 20 over, so I wasn't going to move because he wants to do 140!

He was tailgating me hard, now driving with his highs on, and honking. I decided if he wants to be an impatient prick I would slow down to 100. EVERY time he tried to pass me, there would be a car coming up and there was no way to get around without running me off the road. He was enraged.

Finally I'm back to 115ish and I go into the middle lane as the far left was a little slow. He comes ripping up beside me on the far right lane and is screaming out his window and fingering me. As he is doing this I look in front of him and point, and BOOM smokes a car that was doing 80 in front of him.

The other driver was fine, but the truck got pretty fucked up and so did the other car. I told the other car the story of what he was doing and suddenly the "Oh my neck, my neck" came up  Not the most honest thing but I chuckled.

I was on a stretch of highway with 4 lanes and a merge lane, not a person in sight for miles, when this woman that is merging starts coming towards me. I was about a half a car length on her (her front end was even with the middle of my car), so she must have been looking to the right while merging left in order not to see me. She weaves across the 2 lanes and shows no intention of stopping before she gets into mine until I lay on the horn and swerve to avoid her. She looks horribly embarrassed, but I decide to fuck with her, as the highway is completely empty and I was in no rush, so I slowed down to pull beside her. When I would slow down, she would slow down, to the point that we were going 20 on a 100 highway (it was flat as Saskatchewan, if I'd seen a car coming I would've gotten up to speed with plenty of time to spare). Finally an exit came and she got off. I keep going and pull over at a gas station, and who should I see a few minutes later passing by? Sometimes I feel bad, she must have thought I was going to murder her. But then other times I feel bad that I didn't run her right off the road.

Other than that I usually don't pay attention to idiots. But I refuse to be bullied into speeding in a school zone, so I'll slow to 10 if somebody really wants to be a dick about it. It's very rewarding watching them spazz out

I had someone who drove behind me with highs on for 20 minutes taking the back road of 36th st (taking the back roads from martindale to country hills blvd)

And still had then on while driving down Country Hills Blvd (east of deerfoot).

As soon as the road opens up to four lanes, I get out from in front of them, slam on the brakes, see it's some lady on her phone, hop in behind her and throw on the highs. I then proceed to sit behind her till we hit some more traffic. I don't think she had even turned off her highs yet when she pulled off, she was just that retarded.

I had it easy w/ my dark tint. She didn't have the benefit.

after that a pickup passes us and there is some dude with a open beer and as they drive by he has a huge grin on his face and is looking at us and pointing at his beer and then a little later about 30 seconds before the turn off for sunshine the truck is pulled over and the cop was walking over to the passenger side (where the guy was holding the beer)

His friend is running super late and they are missing the time to write thier exam. this was in edmonton and they had to cross one of the bridges that goes over the river but the left turn off lane was bakced up forever. His friend driving the 510 decides to burn up the right turning lane and at the last second go left (totally cutting some guy off by like a foot). the guy is freaking out at them, tailgating, honking, fingering etc. on the single lane road leading to the bridge. right before the bridge, there is a turnoff to the golf course so the guy behind them still freaking out pulls into the turning lane and tries to pass them. my dad's friend just floored it and they were neck and neck. my dad said "i was sitting in the back seat and this guy glanced over, pissed right off, giving us all dirty looks, by the time he looked back at the road, his eyes were as big as golf balls because he realised the turning lane stop very shortly"

i guess the guy ran out of room and jumped a curb that sits about a foot high, it totally ripped the wheels right off the guys car and he blew into a snow drift and that was the last they saw of him.

and yes, i know it was wrong of them to burn up the one lane and then cut over at the last second, but its pretty funny what happened when the guy thought he would show them up by passing them in a turn lane.

I was at a crash a couple years ago on 22 just north of 8, involving a car and two heavy trucks (one straight truck and a semi). Absolute carnage everywhere, car and truck parts on the road along with contents of both trucks, the vehicles partially in the ditch, partially on the shoulder.. it was complete mayhem. Traffic, needless to say, was backed up forever in both directions. I was on the side of the road doing medical care on the lady who had been the passenger in the semi when I hear a cop buddy of mine who was walking past us on the road say "What do you think you're doing??" I looked to my right and some clown was on a Goldwing picking his way through the mess, zigzagging across the entire road, driving over car parts, fluids, skid marks, etc., with his child riding on the back of the bike with him. Let's just say they ended up being rather late for whereever they were heading...

Interesting thread. My favourite thing to do is:

When I know people are gonna run the red after their advance (like in front of chinook going south on macleod), I purposely go in the rightest lane and as SOON as my light turns green no matter what I punch it.

This always makes the guy running the light slam on his brakes in the middle of the intersection, and I proceed thru, while the other 2 lanes beside me sit and honk at the dick for blocking traffic... maybe next time they'll think twice before running a red.

lmao thats exactly what i do all the time.

Same situation and I beat the van, he had 2 guys behind him trying to run the red advance too, I just went through honking lol

Biggest pet peeve - people and advances.

Owned.

I'm just thankful me and my car make it to work in one piece everyday.... Then again, it's not that hard when you're doing 40km/h on deerfoot!! No wonder people bring books to read while they drive.

I almost owned myself recently.

I was heading to grab a bite to eat with a friend of mine, and was heading east on McKnight Blvd, merging to Deerfoot S. If you're familiar with the merge, you know that the Deerfoot S exit from McKnight E merges with the Deerfoot S exit from McKnight W, then merges to Deerfoot S together. So for a good stretch, you've got two lanes running parallel to Deerfoot S before merging over into each other.

I'm taking the ramp, and there's a pack of four cars coming from the McKnight W ramp, and they're all doing about 50 KM/H... these idiots are supposed to be merging onto a 100 KM/H expressway. Of course, as I get to my spot to merge, all these idiots are right beside me.

Of course, I let the devil on my shoulder actuate the throttle, as the angel usually on my other shoulder was locked in the trunk at the time, screaming for mercy. I hammer the loud pedal, blow past these idiots and merge. Now, I'm exiting at 32nd NE, so basically I'm on and off Deerfoot within seconds. I look at my speedometer... uhh... yeah. I was going significantly higher than the PSL.

I immediately begin slowing as I proceed up the ramp, and stop at the light to head east on 32nd Ave. As this is going on, I notice a car cut across four lanes of Deerfoot traffic to get behind me. Oh crap. This is a police officer, and I'm pretty sure he just caught me trying to break landspeed records.

He pulls up behind me, no lights on yet. The light is still red. I get out my license, registration, and insurance, and roll down my window, ready to hand it over. The light goes green, and he flips the cherries on.

Walking up to the car, he's got his flashlight out. I immediately hand him my documents and say "I probably wasn't driving very favorably out there, hey?" He looks at my license (doesn't bother with registration/insurance) and says "You been drinking tonight?" "No sir," I respond. He hands me my information back and says "Tonight is your lucky night; I have a checkstop to be at, pulling over drunk drivers. You were movin' pretty fast out there, don't know how fast, but take it easy and drive safe. Your punishment is that you missed the green light."

No ticket. Just an officer with a good sense of humour and some understanding.

Because I'm not in a car, so I don't have to worry about going to jail for running you off the road in a rage :)

I hate idiots that just want to show off their car. Last weekend this white Mazda 3 was trying to show off on Macleod Tr. blasting up just having to slow back down due to traffic and pacing me as if he wanted to race. Him with his 17 year old friends gave me the finger afterwards. If you're reading this and you probably are, you're a dumb fuck. I'm not going to race you with my 37-week pregnant wife in the car. I wouldn't race you regardless. Can't wait till I have the baby in the back seat and people try to pull this shit. I'd have to get out of my car and walk up to their window and tell them what an immature bitch they are.

^ Yeah, that's probably him... white Mazda 3 hatch. Sounded like he had a turbo. I normally wouldn't mind people trying to race me but to give me the finger afterwards really pisses me off.

argh....my turn to rant.

why the hell do people think that it's ok to miss there exit on deerfoot, slam on the brakes, dive across three lanes to stop on the shoulder, only to sit there for a minute and then attempt to back up on deerfoot, only to cut off three or four more people while you gun it when there isn't enough room? like fuck, honestly, you could go to the next exit, turn around, and instead of endangering everyone else's life, just go around. dumbass.

and another thing that i realized this morning on my way to work. if the people would get their heads out of their asses while driving, a lot of the reckless speeding/driving would be gone, no? i figure that if everyone would follow the "common sense" rules of the road, driving would be a lot better. for example, i was travelling southbound on deerfoot this morning, from memorial all the way down to mckenzie. traffic was pretty light, but i still ended up having to do 85 in the fast lane because of some stupid bitch on her cell phone. instead of having to get pissed off and go around her, if she would be smart and not be in the fast lane, life would be better for everyone. but noooooo, that's apparently too much to ask.

it's like when your sitting in rushour traffic, and the moron in front of you leaves 100+ feet in front of him for every tom, dick, and harry to cut in, making you miss your light while he runs the red.
honestly, if everyone just paid attention when in traffic, a lot of the congestion would be reduced to nothing, and everyone could spend a lot more time at home with the family, instead of the middle of deerfoot, when its just a parking lot.

dont you just feel so much better now?

i love when people try to race you in the middle of the day on a crowded street... rev the engine a little and let them peel out.

1 month ago, driving to work down center st towards Mcknight NW.

Asshole in a Toyota Sienna minivan is tailgating me in the right lane, weaving, driving like an idiot. When we get to the Mcknight lights I pull into the left lane and stop so that he is beside me. We are the first row of cars. Light turns green, I floor it to 50km/h and he floors it down to the ground. Sure enough cops are right ahead. Cop with a radar gun runs across the street and tells him to pull over.

I drove by laughing, they guy must have been doing at least 90 km/h and I felt good by provoking him to do so

moral of the story, do NOT speed on center st.

I came out to my car one night last winter only to find that the whole side of it was smashed up. So, I drove around the neighbourhood at 4 in the morning, taking pictures of every car.

I found the one who hit me, I called the cops, gave them the pictures. They went to her door, she lost her license.

That's my favorite story.

That is the ultimate, I am always hoping for a similar experience daily.
