Can any hook me up with some cheap insurance. My Allstate company has justed raised my insurance because there are so many people putting claims through that they have to raise everyones policies.

They want me to pay $9600 a year full coverage. Can some please help that would be ideal.

Seriously how can they justify almost 10K per year? Not many people can afford to pay almost $1000/month for insurance alone. I guess this is one situation where it pays to be older. I am paying $2100 to insure the G35 and the RSX-S.

No doubt! I'm glad I'm on the older end of the 16-25 scale!

AllState is the biggest rip off, they wanted $350+ for my 323I so it forced me to switch companies:clap:

That's rediculous...
are you claim free??????
Paying $10,000 a year for insurance would allow for a $100,000 claim after 10 years...
damn robbers....
I was lucky.. I was paying $2500/yr full coverage 2 years ago, when I was 23..

Yes i am claim free but have 4 convictions and 1 conviction is coming off in september so basically only 3.

The car is on a lease so i can't do PL PD has to be full coverage.

CRXguy

those convictions are gonna hurt. I have 3 myself, and I've either been quoted $9000+/year, or they refuse to give me a quote. :D

Just another 2.5 more years and I'll hopefully be able to afford a nicer car and cheap insurance.

I wonder where people are getting these high insurance rates anyways. I saw on the news last night that people are being "dropped" by their insurance companies because they are foster parents. What kind of bullshit is this anyways? :dunno:

Since I've been driving, I have yet to see my insurance premiums rise on their own (I have one 2-point ticket), and I have yet to be "dropped" by an insurance company.

Something must be up with these people who say their insurance is going up by 200% and shit like that.

I'm with TD Meloche Monnex as well, $2000/yr for both my vehicles with full coverage. If you're a UofC, SAIT student/alumni I believe they'll give you group rates which can amount to some savings. I do remember paying ridiculous rates in my early 20's (nowhere near $10K though) and it wasn't fun, I know how you younger guys feel. I heard something about the AB gov't wanting to introduce measures which will base your rates more on driving record than age. It appears that being young is the major factor for insane rates.

Would be nice. I've heard they're going to first put a cap on pay-outs for minor injuries, but even if they do that, it'll take many years till the insurance companies actually make back what they're paid out over the past 10 years, making a cap pretty much useless for the time being.

I dunno, I've been insured now for 2 years and haven't seen my rates increased for no reason what-so-ever. What kind of half-assed insurance companies are raising rates for drivers for no reason ? :dunno:

You have to be part of a group. That includes if you graduated from a post-secondary school or part of a professional association you can get a discount....provided that they recongize the place.

I am with TD Meloche as well and I couldn't get insurance through them until I graduated.

If it increases by a real noticeable amount (if it's $40 more a year, that can happen), I say fuck them and find someone else. Like I said, my insurance has NEVER gone up a substantial amount for no reason.

My g/f is a SAIT graduate, but she's not 25, so would she still be able to get insurance with them?

sort of on topic, sort of off topic.. I was talking to this guy at work, and apparently, they recently discovered the reason why insurance rate is so high is because th extra coin actually goes to an opposition party in the government.. can anyone verify that?

is it actually true your insurance drops after you turn 25 or is this an urban legend cause when i turned 25 my insurance went down 7 bucks a month - was that the big discount you get when you turn 25 or am i with the wrong insurance company?

Damn, I just got off the phone with TD for an insurance quote for my car.

$1354/year on $1million liability and $250 deductibles. That's 25% cheaper than with StateFarm. Bye-bye Statefarm...
