View Full Version : Winterizing the car to park in the winter

first time winter parking....
what do i do?

disconnect batttery, fill up the tank, add fuel stabilizer/fuel line anti freeze, throw some crappier wheels and tires to avoid flat spots on your good ones (unless you move it a bit throughout the winter)

also give it a good cleaning (before) throwing a car cover on.

A couple of suggestion, I'm sure there are others but

Change the oil, over inflate the tires 5-15psi or put the car on blocks, clean it, wax it, car cover, if mice are present then plug up the tail pipe and air filter box, fill the tank up and add fuel stabilizer, disconnect the battery and store indoors or once in a while hook it up to a battery charger. I also read that your not supposed to start the car mid winter unless you can drive it for a few km's because just starting it up to normal operating temps can be more harmful.
