Yeah, I saw that too when I drove by there this morning, it was sitting out front.
It is actually a much lighter shade of blue than the one in X-men2.

The wheel gap isn't THAT big. Not every car has a wheel gap of 0.0005" you know

It is actually a much lighter shade of blue than the one in X-men2. The one in X-men 2 is a different shade from whats normally available I think. I believe Mazda offered a limited run in the states of X2 branded models in that color.

yep they are different blue.. and i dont think Mazda is offering that blue as a limited edition or watever in the state.. not yet anyway... here's a fun little fact.. when they shot the RX-8 scene, the RX-8 wasnt ready yet. so the one you see in the garage is just a shell, and the one they were driving was a RX-7 w/ a RX-8 shell. :d so the engine doesnt rev like the xmen car :D

As ugly as it is Ive heard good things about the suspension and that it was designed exclusively by Mazda. The chassis is supposed to be something special as well can anyone confirm and clarify?

I'm gonna agree with Redlyne on this one, this car is UGLY. I kind of like the ones with aftermarket, but stock, it's just looks like ass from what I've seen.

i hate the RX8. I dont understand why someone would buy this over a used RX7. The screwed it up just like they screwed up the new Eclipse and 350Z. It looks big, bulky and has no ballz! It's no longer the sports car it used to be.

Twin Turbo RX7>RX8
300ZX Twin Turbo > 350Z
1990-1999 AWD Turbo DSM > 2003 Eclipse

call me a boost freak i dont care!

cause Rx-8 is not meant to replace RX-7. mazda used the Rx-8 to test the market for the return of rotary before they give the green light for the new RX-7

i havent read this whole thread, but i heard instead of using robots to put together the engine ppl do it. it takes approx. 30-45 min to put together an engine. i found that quite interesting.

Speaking of which... I saw a midnight black RX-8 fly by me on Mac Trail before turning into 17th ave. At first I thought it was some horribly disfigured Mercedes or something trying to ram itself up my tailpipe, it's a rather unexpecting car until it passes you.

I didn't think the things were on the roads yet. Was either a dealer modle or is in town for CSN tomorrow. By the time I had managed to put two and two together, the thing was long gone. Didn't see the plate 'er nothing.

Ugh, isn't that the way it always is? Fosilized old men driving nice cars... there are of course, a few exceptions. Hn. I need to grow old and pruney...

in the mean time... hide in the bushes and get pictures, man!

I saw one of the Rx8's down here in California.. Cool ride!

A little OT, but I also saw a few Pacifica's, and a new Crossfire.. I like where Chrysler is headed!

in the mean time... hide in the bushes and get pictures, man! This is what caused the death of the japanese supercars in the first place. The people who wanted to own them could never afford them, and the people who could could also afford to buy way better cars (and did). At least they are (somewhat) more affordable now.

The colour really makes or breaks this car. It definatly stands out though. I saw a yellow one and I was like, wow, that looks like ass. But a couple minutes later I saw a red one and it looked pretty good.

I think i might like it if they produce a soft top version I really don't like the roof lines and show it is situated so far back in the car.

first i didnt really like them, but when i saw it in person, they are SWEET AS HELL!

usually the back seats of sports cars wont fit nobody, but this one will fit one tall ass person comfortably.

I want one.

people say this old car is better than this newer car, but it's just that u have to get use to the new stylings and grow into it. back then i didnt like some of the sports cars but as the time grew, my love for them grew too.

so just give it time people!

i drove a friends today for about an hour and a half.
It seems to handle fairly well (didnt push too hard cause it was a bit wet out).
The interior is also pretty comfortable and designed well in terms of ergonomics and the gauges are very nice.
His looked pretty nice with the factory skirts, lip and wing. Didn't look as 4x4 ish.
As for power...it really could use more. Its amazingly smooth but really lacks grunt. It reminds me alot of a bmw 330 minus the torque but with alot more rpm's to crank out.
The tranny is really nice and the brakes are amazing.
Its a nice sporty 4 seater but nowhere near as fun to drive as a 3rd gen rx-7 even in bone stock form...then again, its not supposed to be a replacement for it right?

Yeah . they all nice cars.. but .. nowaday car manufacture, have to make a car "sell" ! and somehow ..american like "bigger" and 4 doors cars ! and .. it is funny .. most japanese manufacture r trying to get away with turbo now ... ( which has pros and cons , which non-turbo engine is better ... if they hv engough power ! I think it is always good to offer turbo as an "option" )

If they make the actually 4 th genaration RX-7 nice !

The Miata should come with a 200hp 4 cyl turbo option. I love the small sized pocket rockets. They dont make enough of them. It seems the manufacturers figure that a small car should be slow and a big boat should be fast. Oh well. Whatever happened to
"sporty"?
