So how many people get sick from drinking out of a glass in some hotel a year?
And how many people travel a year?

News said that there are more bacteria in the ice used in any fast food restaurant than your own toilet.

Your immune system isn't useless....

Ya my fiance used to work at the Delta on Southland, and they do nothing more than spray the cups with disenfectent and then wipe it off....there is no actual hand washing with soap and water.

God damn...

As far as I can recall, I've only ever used the plastic ones that come in the sealed plastic bag, so I think I'm ok...

Happened to me at the chateau lake louise. Wine glasses that we had used were simply put back on the shelf, no rinse or anything. The wine stains were still there and management didn't really care. Our bathroom wasn't even cleaned when we arrived at the hotel. Dirty towels on the floor, in the tub, on the sink. Pretty shoddy for a place that charges $350/night.

Yeah pretty sure this wont make any difference for me. I think I'll still use the glasses, for some reason this doesn't bother me at all.

No kidding, people like to think that they live in some sort of sterilized world. People should look up the amount of fecal matter on their keyboards before getting grossed out by water glasses.

So f'n true.
Do you guys honestly have any idea what your immune system is for?
Ever grabbed a changeroom door handle at a retail store?
Do you think associates clean those handles after ever single customer?

If this truly grosses you out, stay in your homes and claim you have agoraphobia.

   Nah, it's easy to clean - I can throw it in the dishwasher!

But for those of you wondering:

According to a University of Arizona study, office workstations are much dirtier than bathrooms. A computer keyboard can harbor up to 3,295 microbes per square inch, a computer mouse 1,676. Telephones were the worst culprit, with 25,127 microbes. By contrast, the average toilet seat contains only 49 microbes per square inch.

:werd: It's pointless to whine about something you can solve.

Give the glass a rinse yourself.

While I agree that this isn't something totally outrageous and you should be scared of hotel rooms, that is still pretty fuckin gross.
