now what do i do next do i use the same wires to hook it up to the new speakers? or should i use the wires that cam ewith the speakers(which wire would be better?)

im talking about these wires should i cut them?: which one is + -

Are you running the speakers through an amp? If you are I would suggest changing the wires. If you're running it through your deck then your stock speaker wires would be more than enough to handle the power.

well i have an amp its this one: but i think it gives out to much power and might blow up the speaker!!

just call like a and b sound or visions and ask them for your wiring diagram to tell which wire is positive and negative or Just cut the wires and take a volt meter to the wire and gronud it to a piece of metal on your car some where to create a circuit. If there is a current on the voltmeter then thats the positive wire. If not then the other is positive but double check.
Now for the amp tou have a mono block amp which means its made for subs not your rear speakers. If you want to amplify your speakers you have to get a 2/3/4 channel amp. If you get a 4 channel and bridge 2 of the channels together to power the sub and the other two channels will power each rear speaker.

if your still not sure and dont want to fry all your stuff take it to a professional install bay its worth it

Call AMA and tell them you need an anti-boost. Judging by your photos, you have about 48 hrs to do so before your car battery starts melting from the inside out. Trust me, you don't want to wait for the battery acid to burn a hole in your driveway deep enough to see what they're having for lunch in China.

Are you calling GTS Jeff a niggler? That's derogatory! I withdraw any further assistance to you; regardless of whether you own this forum or not. Good day!

I'm gonna have to say get a professional to do it too. Honestly you don't even know what a speaker looks like, you didn't know that they would be bolted or even screwed in!!! Sorry but as much as everyone would love to sit here and help you for hours save us the time and effort by getting it professionally done.

But good luck.

I'm assuming you're doing the Mustang?

A few on there. Most Fords are the same.

if no sound came out of the left after installing the right...take it to a professional....

if no sound came out of theright after installing it...perhaps it is wired wrong. or there is a lose connection or something of that nature

Put a 250Hz test track on, hook up a voltmeter (AC) to the two lines and see if you're getting any signal. Also check the resistance across the two connectors on the speaker.

If you have no signal at the wires, you yanked them out somewhere or they are stripped and touching ground. If you have no resistance across the speaker leads then your speaker voice coil or connector has disconnected.

Sounds like your timing is off. Or maybe your oil level is low. Did you check your anti-freeze quality?

Here's a little treat for everybody. THESE ARE NOT AUDIOPHILE GRADE TEST TRACKS. They are good enough to set up a system and set crossovers but do NOT use them to break in speakers! Also be VERY careful running the 10 kHz test track. Set your volume very low and do not run continuously or you WILL damage your tweeters!

These will be up for a short time only as I'm not sure how my bandwidth is.

Edit: for anybody wondering what the pink noise is for, here you go: The regular pink noise should sound like it's coming from the middle of the dash if your system is set up right. The reverse polarity one should sound like it's coming from 'everywhere', or outside your soundstage. If these are backwards, you have your polarities switched.

It's more for everybody than just him, but I figured since I told him to use one then I may as well offer it to him.

Everybody's trying to learn, bro. Maybe he'll learn a little humility while he's at it.

I used your test track "goat.wav" in my ride and it gave me an orgasm. Do I have my polarities reversed?

This is the best thread ever.. wow how something as simple as installing a crappy pair of speakers into a FORD can turn into this... only on beyond.

Well, the orgasm effect might suggest that. It might also suggest that you should stop with the beastiality stuff too, if having a goat in your car makes you cream your pants.

I would also suggest that it means you should change your underwear.
