Audi A4 block heater

I have an '02 A4 1.8. Have any of you Audi fellas had a block heater in you car. I was told by Glenmore Audi that they never put block heaters in the 1.8 as it may crack the oil pan.:dunno:

Any experience or have any of you put one in and had any problems?

I don't have one on my 99 A4.. you can easily do a search on http://www.audiworld.com or http://www.audizine.com on the pros cons on having one. From what I've seen on people's winter setups not too many A4's have block heaters

I just bought an 05' Audi A4 2.0 and i had the same question when i called them lst week, they said that they NEVER recomend block heater for our vehicles.

Thnx I did some looking on Audizine but didn't find a lot of helpful info. I'll check on the other site.

You would think an Audi designed for cold climate would have some kind of engine warming system. :dunno:

VW/Audi

was recentely sued by a man in montreal, whos Block heater caused his house/garage/car to burn down.

They have since claimed they do not recommend a block heater.

There is a way around this

You can buy an oil pan heater

and install it yourself

Anyone will do

actually, VW has an inline coolant heater for some of their cars. we do not recommend or sell regular block heaters for the reason stated above.
