dont die
i went to blackfoot, and they told me for a first bike a gixxer 600 is ok.. but 750 is "die-able".. do u think this is true?

First off, awesome bike...!
Second, be carefull out there...especially a newbie on such a bike! Its easy to get caught up in the moment and crack the throttle at the wrong time...or time a corner wrong etc...
Take your time, go at your own pace. :)
And last...take all those damn keys off your key chain!! Those keys are going to scratch the shit out of the key cylinder...then it looks like ass. Just use the single bike key...keep everything else in your storage compartment. ;)
check it out, I got the same bike!!

depends which gixxer... people usually compare the R1 with the gixxer 750 cause the gixxer 1000 is alot faster.

Frenchdriver Thast an awesome bike.
But for your first bike do u think that the 750 was a wise choice. I think that bike is pimp but i heard its not the best bike to learn on for your first bike. After riding it do u still think its a good bike for someone to learn on, like ppl will get used to it after awhile right.

Haha! They told me I look like a hardcore speed racing guy and that I'll get bored with a 600 in a month, so I should just get this brand spanking new R1 as my first bike with no interest and monthly payments of only $200!!! Getting a GSXR600 as your first bike is like getting a ferrari as your first car. like i said, best of luck!
hahah.. i told the chick i wanted a 750.. she recommended that i go with at 600.. and she even told me to go for the 500cc ninja...
sml, haha if u got that R1 first. i dun think u will be here ne more.. ha

That's quite a bike for a beginner, ride it carefully. Try not to die.

totally agree YCB... it's called roadkill, and i think the paramedics call your helmet hamburger holders then :P
yep that's me...jennifer
well, i was just meaning if u have no experience (or very little).
I've been into this shit for years now, and I've had a couple of friends killed because they started on bikes that were too powerful for their experience.
Once you have about a season of riding or so, I think then people should be ready to step up to something like a R1 or something crazy-ass-fast like that.
But trust me, it's better to take things in baby steps, than not being able to walk at all after doin somethin stupid.

Nice bike, but for a first bike?
All the research I have done was saying that the GSXR's are very unforgiving. Just watch out,
See you on the streets!

what do u mean unforgiving???

ie.) blip the throttle too much and it jerks the hell out of you... same thing with misshifts or releaseing the clutch too soon. plus the steering is "too" responsive, which means if you miscalculate your turn, you're going down... of course unforgiving is a relative term only to be adressed to "newbies"...
ohhh damn... i thought gettin a bike would be easy as lookin in the paper.. buyin gear/bike, and riding it..
it IS that easy... did you know that you can also drive a car when you're 10 yrs old without ever taking drivers license or putting on your seatbelt??? Did you also know that if you don't wear a seatbelt and has never taken driving lessons and you run into a wall at 100mph, you can DIE??? It is that "easy"...

I thought the same thing when I first got into the business, but it's amazing the things u find out with a little bit of experience and a lot of research.
To anybody first starting out: take a course!!!!
that's probably the smartest thing anybody can do.
I know I actually took a course after a couple of seasons of riding, and it's amazing the things that you learn that you wouldn't have known about otherwise.
:burnout:
yeah if i didn't take a course, i know for sure i would have crashed/died, now there is a 3% less chance for that.. haha
