I'm in a time crunch on this. I need to hire a few part-time cashiers in the next few weeks. We're having some full-time staff turnover, and as a result, want to replace the position with a few part-time employees.

Position: Poker Cage cashier at the Elbow River Casino

Hours: We run 24 hours a day, with 4 rotating shifts. 3 of which will be available to you (so you don't have to work the 11:30pm-8am shift).

Morning: 8am-4pm
Evening: 4pm-12am
Relief: 7pm-3am

It would be preferable if you were flexible when you work, it's ok to work one shift on one day, and another shift on another day.

Job skills: You MUST be good with basic math. You're going to be doing a lot of counting in various denominations (1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 500, 1000), and handling chip-cash transactions from amounts ranging from a few dollars to well over ten thousand dollars. Don't let this scare you off though.

You are also going to be doing various debit, and credit card transactions, as well as foreign (US) currency conversions, but that's nothing major. You may see 20 debit transactions a shift, and a handful of credit cards.

Casino chip handling skills are appreciated (all those late night poker games at your buddy's house will come in handy), but it's NOT required. We can teach you how to properly handle chips.

You do not need to have any knowledge on the game of poker. Your job is not to instruct people how to play, your job is simply to handle the cash side of things.

You must be patient, and be good with customers. A lot of the patrons at the casino are very quirky, and/or downright annoying at times. Your job is to be kind, and do the best possible job to serve them.

Pay: See post #5

Last but not least, I know this sounds weird, but we're really trying to hire female cashiers. We're trying very hard to not be biased in our department towards one gender or another, but 6 of our 7 current cashiers are male, and we need to try to even it up. I will consider male cashiers, but if you're female, it's more or less an instant top-of-the-list.

You're more than welcome to discuss any inquiries in this thread, you can PM me if you would like, or email me ([email protected]).

Alright, not a lot of action so far.....

Here's the pay breakdown:

You will be paid a base wage around $8/hr. On top of that, you will be cut in to the dealer's tips as well. The tips will change from day to day, but you can expect them to be atleast $10/hr. After a 3 month probation period, you will be iven an additional $1/hr incentive for balancing during the entire pay paeriod.

So, in total, you're looking at $19+/hr

It's a good job for a starving student trying to make a little spending money.

Oh, I know this goes without saying, but I figured I should mention it. This IS a casino, you have to be atleast 18 years of age, and have a clean criminal record.
