Still working on details, but it is in Edmonton AUg 23-25.

So far we have nothing confirmed, but we will be either going out to stratotech ( www.stratotech.ca ) or FASTRACK to race go carts. What else will we do? cruise, eat, drink, party....the usual.

we will keep you updated.

hope to see mroe of you out this time.....

quote from Azncowboy:
k instead of silvercity ...it's Deerfoot mall parking lot @ 9:30...thats comfirmed..
from there we leave around 9:45
Meet up with the Edmonton crew. and the centrum hockey arena parking lot.
and all drive to wherever dragwarz is...

grand prix has a hill and bridge, but fast track is about 1/3 faster cars and a better track

is one of these places in the west ed mall? those carts kick ass!!

My last expereince with FAST Trak isn't as memorable.
I doubt I will ever go back. :madred:

The track IMO isn't as exciting as the one in Calgary (no elevation). But it does offer a good challenge. The karts are a bit run down but they are 9.5 HP ( a little faster than here).

Cost wise: MUCH cheaper with no license required. Pay your $20 and off you go :burnout:

***
My Beef with them is the staff and how they operate. I got pulled over twice for "drving too fast" - WTF is up with that? It's not like I was all over the place and being an ass or bouncing off walls. I was well ahead of any other kart. The third time the guy pulled me over for "using the brakes too much" - huh? then he proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay for new pads.... Whatever (no, I didn't pay).

Turns out I was beating someone that worked there. Bastards!:madred:

Holy smokes, LOL! It's called home court advantage!
Maybe we'll have to make sure no employees/bastards are racing, man that's gotta suck

I think I might be able to make it out to this meet!

Yes, they have a rule where you aren't allowed to keep the gas planted when you are braking since that causes excess wear on the pads. I drove like a maniac and they never bitched at me for driving too fast, I loved it! I think it is much more enjoyable than Grand Prix here in Calgary as its actually fast and the track design is far superior to Grand Prix as well. Another thing is their safety system when someone crashes, they can cut the power to all karts so there aren't any bad accidents, and then when the crash/spinout is corrected, full power is restored.

If FastTrack is on the schedule, I'm up for it!

Fast tracks rocks....the smooth even ashphalt really make a difference i think. it sucks when your going around a corner and your kart jumps and loes grip because of uneven concrete slabs and stuff

and the setup is great, the printout u get at the end of the race is better than the calgary one we went to

I was planning on driving up to Edmonton on Sunday (nothing else to do), but now Saturday for the karting?

Doesn't that conflict with the masses going to Drag Warz?

coldrsx

i dont htink many edmontonians are heading down to drag warz, too far for a 1 day thing and we have the rest of the meet planned already....

:dunno:

you guys still coming up ?

mwmhong
08-19-2002, 07:37 PM
Depends on how many people you have planned for the track and how much racing there is (1 hour?), the MALL is the only thing that interests me about Edmonton; Karting, Playdium, Gun Shooting, Shopping.

It's only a one day thing for me, I might be bringing someone with me, or I might not, it all depends on many things, especially on a Saturday and 6 hours of driving.

As of right now, I'm 55% in, but it may change.

coldrsx

sat will be a fun day....

we will meet up in the morning, group car wash, then prob head to chinatown for some lunch/bubble tea.

after that we will prob go for a cruise, head to west ed, play some playdium, pool, etc....whatever people feel like.

then hit somewhere for dinner, prob at west ed or around there.

go carts will be at 8pm. I still am working with the owners for a group price, but as it stands we get $5 off, to make it $20 for each 10min race which equals about 20-30 laps (depending how fast you are). What the owners gave a couple of us last time was 20 for 1st race then 15 for each race there after.....trust me after 3 races you r arms are stiff and back is sore. With 10-15 people expected, and 5 in each race....we will prob be there 1-2hrs.

coldrsx
08-20-2002, 01:21 PM
************************************************8

fri night bud park will be hosting strete legals.....

instead we will hit up laser tag or pool and then KOREAN BBQ a bit earlier

If I do run up to Edmonton, I'll be at the mall all day (shopping and shooting), then probably meet you at the Kart place around 8PM. After might eat, then zip back to Calgary where it's safe. :)

mwmhong- sounds good..if yah wanna hit up dinner wit us let me know, prob go around 6 or 10 depending on if people want to be weighed down by steak etc. for go carts......

LOL, you're wong, my name is not wong.
It's THONG without the 'T' :)

Okay, probability has increased to 75%, I might bring someone and we'll be riding in one of two beautiful domestic vehicles (assuming it doesn't fall to pieces on the way there)
