Has anyone been to the restaurant after the renovations, how is the food and the overall appeal?

overpriced, as the food is average at best.

Are you talking about the new one? The old one is scheduled to close by the end of the year. New one is owned by Concorde Properties so same people that own Whiskey, Chophouse, Redwater Grille, etc.

The one that has the revolving restaurant, does anyone have any other suggestions for a nice place that is decently priced?

Stay away...it's terrible.

They think because you get a nice view that they can serve you crappy food at a high cost.

I suggest the Wildwood dinning room for nice "Canadian" food that's not too expensive.

The PUB downstairs at the Wildwood is better than the Calgary Tower.

Quincy's on 7th ave SW (somewhere around 6th street I believe) is reasonably priced, considering how good the food is, which I found to be excellent.

Vintage chophouse is quite a bit more expensive, but the food is AWESOME.

I just really liked Quincy's, the servers there are great, and I never had a dish I didn't like.
:dunno:

The OP was looking for something reasonably priced.

The Bears Den is not reasonably priced.

I thought my experience at the Tower was great. We had the best waiter ever there. I was I could remember his name. The food was good and I expected to pay a bit more considering the location. Its a very romantic for dinner.

It's more of a romance thing, if your into that... but really price is overpriced, and its worth it though if you have a girl that's into the whole height thing. Plus a bonus would be to go when the sun is setting! Man you'll catch a chick in no time lol

bears den +1

Never go to calgary tower unless your planning to spend lots of money. I went with my family and the bill came to about 7 bills not including tip. What I remember most was their ceaser salad, they would cut half of the lettuce head and serve it to you like that. The lettuce head still had dirt in them. :thumbsdow

yeah, dinner is overpriced but I would seriously look into for lunch. The prices are way better, about 35 to 40 altogether for two people. You also get 2 for 1 admission to the tower.

Here are some cheap ways to impress a girl yet look somewhat good..hahaha

I would only go there because of the view. Like said before the food is overpriced. But i did enjoy the 'rocky mountain platter' which is a appetizer. Took the gf there this summer and the appetizer, 2 chicken entrees, dessert and 2 soft drinks came to like 120 some before tips.

Yeah Calgary Tower is way to over priced. I mean to food is not horrible, but it isn't worth its price. You are basically paying for the view, which is amazing.
