Haha, I think it was all sarcastic... ;)
But seriously, have you actually gone to a number of places to get it cut? If so, what do they tell you when they see it? That they can't cut it? Or have you just called around asking if they can cut a key for a Skyline from Japan? Because honestly most people will have no idea what a Skyline is when you say it, and they may just automatically assume they can't do it because they haven't heard of it and/or because it is from a foreign country.
I got all sort of weird reactions from people/businesses (like my insurance company) when they heard my 300zx was JDM. Even though a big percentage of cars on the road are Japanese (but sold domestically) and despite the fact the same model was sold here, a lot of people seemed to act like it was from another planet.
But anyways, I'm assuming that a key is a key, so any key that is the right pattern/shape that would work for a 1990 Nissan should be ok, regardless of whether it is for a Maxima sold in Canada or a Skyline imported from Japan. If worse comes to worse you can probably go to a Nissan dealership and get ripped off.

as long as you can find a blank key somewhere will be able to cut it, getting the blank will be the hard part if it uses any different then the NA nissans did, but i will go out on a limb abd say a 90's 240sx blank should be the same, or close

im going to stop at stadium nissan and see if they can do it. when i stopped at rona and home depot i basically got the same answer, they havent seen a key like this before and i guess dont want to screw up my key. the superstore in the hamptons has a key cutting key at the lottery center and he asked me what kind of car it was for, i told him nissan and he went thru his blank nissan keys but couldnt find a match he said.
