Glass roof seems the be the next big must have "feature". Everyone is doing it.

I'd hate to have to scrape ice off a car like that.

Kind of cool, but too bad that it doesn't retract over the rear glass like the Porsche 993 Targas did.

So that one can maintain the benefits of having a glass roof (ie. visibility for what's above)? :dunno:

It looks sweet, but I don't really see the point. Not for 2 grand anyway. Would it not just be a poor insulator in the winter?

I heard they are replacing all the metal in mustangs with glass, so no one can call them "rustangs" anymore.

Pretty cool concept, probaly better suited to luxury cars but at 2Gs seems like a nice option to have

$2,000 seems pretty inexpensive for a glass-top mustang GT option. I'd rock it were I ever to buy a mustang.

Very cool. Can't wait to see them on the streets :D

I wonder if it adds or reduces weight? And if it hurts stiffness of the body at all?

^^ I'd assume it would add a fair bit of weight, glass is a lot heavier than the sheet metal that is there normally.
I'd 100% rock it though, I miss having a sunroof at all.

That looks awesome but would be pretty crappy for claims like hail damage, not to mention pricey.

I'm curious, isn't this essentially like making the car a convertible, since the glass cannot withstand nearly as much stress as steel can? Therefore, doesn't this compromise every aspect of the car? Why would you want this...How much is there above you that you really need to look at WHILE driving? Just get out of your car...

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that it's probably no more dangerous than a Mustang CONVERTIBLE.

CDC already sells the glass roof kit if you wanna chop a hole in your roof. Lots of guys are doing it in the states. No it doesn't affect the integrity of the vehicle as far as I've read. In fact its almost as if the car was designed for it from go. (See 2005 Mustang GT Concept Car).

It depends what car were they started out with. If they took the coupe and cut a hole in it, yes there would be a compromise. But if they took the convertible and then added the roof, it would be fine.

Yup, in Japan only though...

The reason I like it is the view is amazing, and it allows more natural light in the car for those who don't like the 'hassle' of sunroofs (repairs, leaks etc that CAN happen with them....)
