im just goin to check out what kinda ram my current laptop has and how many slots it got left.

well most new laptops run ddr2 and come with at least 1gb (2x512), but if you bought a budget one and it only came with 512 (1x512, or 2x256) this is the cheapest, most significant upgrade you can get

i can't imagine anyone running vista with 512mb ram, or xp for that matter
