I bought a Samsung 19" 931BW monitor yesterday and for some reason the resolutions aren't working properly. The box says it will do 1440x900 but when I place that resolution I have to pan the desktop right or left to see the whole thing. If I go to a lower resolution everything looks stretched horizontally.

I'm running a dual core intel 2.13GHz with 2GB of ram and a Geoforce 7950 video card and yes I installed the drivers for the monitor. So I definately don't think it's hardware issue. :dunno:

Any chance there is a setting I need change for widescreen?

are you running the latest nvidia drivers? i have the same monitor and 8800gts so somewhat the same config as you.

It would be an issue with the card, not the monitor itself.

I think I have the latest drivers, I'll have to check when I get home tonight to ensure that they are the latest.

Although I just got this card maybe two months ago as a RMA replacement.

I updated to the newest driver (Nvidia launched a new driver today) and it fixed my issue.
