Got a friend who's transmission just went, estimated at a $2500 repair and he doesn't want to bother with it. I'm thinking about taking ownership of it over, but instead of replacing the busted up transmission, swap the stock auto out and drop a 5-speed in.
How much am I looking at paying for a 5 speed transmission, as well as the labour because I don't have the technical skills to do it myself?
