View Full Version : Are wheel lock nuts mandatory on new trucks/suv?

When to a dealer for a quick quote, they said I must get the wheel locknut option... Because it's the law or required by some rule, etc. Pretty such she's correct. But just wanted to double check with you guys.

There's no law about that, I see new trucks/suv's all the time without wheel locks

We put them on all of them at our dealership because there was a rash of wheel thefts, cheap insurance for the dealer but I agree that it should be no cost to the purchaser.

Which dealer? Should call them and ask for a quote on some reverse thread JDM lock nuts just to see what they say.
