View Full Version : New Years Resolutions?

Melinda
12-27-2007, 11:42 AM
I think I made a thread like this last year and it was neat to hear what everyone's goals were for the coming year, so I thought I'd do it again.

What are your 2008 resolutions?

Mine would probably be to try a whole bunch of new things. I tend to be a creature of routine and habit and then life gets redundant. This year I'll branch out and try new activities, new restaurants, meet new people and go new places :)

What are yours?

I'm going to drink less and focus on my hobbies like I used to. I've been caught in a bit of a rut lately, life has become a little boring.

amen to that...

Also, like the OP said, I'm gonna try new things.

I've always wanted to live somewhere warm... so I have a job offer from a company in Pleasanton, California. I'm heading down the second week of January to check the city out and meet everyone. I can't wait.

ROFL!!!!! Hilarious.

Years ago I was huge into lifting, 6500 cal per day, 2 dozen egg whites/day, supplements up the ying yang etc. (now im just huge...around the waist) And it used to piss me off every year right after Jan 1st the gyms would be FILLED with noobs and their New Years Resolutions.
I would actually stop going to the gym and just work out at home until around the end of February..then it was back to normal. :D

Maybe you could pick up one of those little birkenstock wearing vegan boys for a change. That lack of meat (no pun intended) would likely leave them unable to hurt you very badly at all.

Or just give up catching and pitch for awhile.....

My resolution last year was to take less crap from people and be less of a pussy. I succeeded for the most part. Problem now is, I've turned into a stressed out asshole, so for this year, I'm going to try and find ways to relax by drinking. :D

Swear a little less, I sound like a sailor and seem uneducated.

Lower my standards, I keep saying no, because I think a girl is a slut. I feel like a prude. I just need to throw it in.

I am going to Africa in March and need to get in shape for hiking Kilimanjaro, I have booked the porters. [Oh and keep my standards up for the time I'm in Africa, then drop them real low!]

New Years resolution...

I'm with the other gym goers. I'm sure my gym will be PACKED with people until February but that's life.

As far as my own resolutions... hmm....

- Keep training 5-6 days a week as I have been but train harder than ever. Push the absolute limits of my body.
- Get back into Martial Arts (it's been many years)
- Quit smoking weed (it's killin me in the cardio dept lately)
- Enter an event hopefully in the summer
- Find a girl, not the perfect girl, just someone that's cool with me and my mistakes I've made
- Make my dad an even more ridiculous guitarist
- Not leave Calgary ever again, not for the world

It's all fairly reasonable.

Here's to 2008 beyond! Good luck everyone else and if anyone wants a gym buddy, I'm always at the Y in Crowfoot (it's like 2 minutes from my place)

+1, +1, +1, and... +1!

I don't really like the idea of resolutions, in other words doing things for the sake of doing them, but I always have in mind ways to improve myself. Really my objective now is to do more stuff period. I realized that, looking back on high school as a senior, I never really did much 'stuff'. So, I plan on just doing more of everything, and spending less time doing things like sitting on Beyond. More running, more lifting (not as a goal... just for the hell of it), more drinking, more studying (I don't even need the grades).

I also want to start modding my car a lil more :).

My gym is fucking packed. So packed.

I'm stoked for the people that hit the gym and stick with it, but the people that bail after a month. Weak. Just keep going. I'd rather it be full all the time with people that stuck to their game instead of annoyingly busy for 2 months then dead again.

The plus with it being busy now is so much more new eye candy :)
