ITS BRAND NEW
ITS WORTH IT
:closed:

the previous owner kept it in a stored garage for 18 years spending 2K a year just for storing fees.
It may not be to some peoples tastes but I personally think its amazing

No its just a brand new 1990 Supra. I saw it. It actually has like 92 km on it. The leather is new and everything, it looks so wrong.

but still 50 grand, just think of what you could do with a 6g supra and have 44K to thro in for mods...i think i would get a used one...!!!!

I think its more of a collectors item than an actual vehicle to drive.

:werd: I talked to a salesman last week about this and that's exactly what it is with 92km's on it. Not exactly my taste and I wouldn't really consider this a collectors car, but that's just me. While everyone is dissing the price and all, all it takes is just one guy who likes it and can afford it to buy it.

The fact that it has sat for so long means that a ton of gear would need replacing.

So seriously do you think the collector owner changed the oil every 3-6 months since 1990? Or still the same oil?

Doesn't even have enough miles to re-torque the lug nuts from factory.

That same car was listed for $38000 back when I still had my gen3. Almost 10 years ago, I remember Reg Reimer talking about that car at a SONIC meet.

they should just keep i in the dealership for show. Its in good shape but not exactly a collectors car yet.

12-29-2007, 10:39 AM
From what i was told when my borther was working at the dealership is that the car hasnt been started in 18 years, talking to a couple of people, Reg being one of them, they say that the seals in the motor are garbage now and that it'll beak upon starting. when country hills toyota bought it, they didnt even start it, just pushed it on to a flat bed and towed to the dealership and that was it.

i told my bvro that it was a big mistake to buy that car as no one would buy it. but hey who knows, someone on Ebay might buy it.

That's exactly what I told the the Sales Manager and their sales guys...

Its not even considered "Vintage" or "Classic" yet!

Nice car nonetheless but NOT worth 50K yet...maybe when its 20yrs old or something...??

That is scary!

Yeah, you never know... You see these collectors with the massive warehouses full of a certain make of car, they could be looking for something like this and not even blink an eye at the price.

There was a 98 Supra 6speed TT targa top on ebay a while back with 3100 miles on it. I posted it here but some ass-clown deleted it.
It finally sold for $66k.
^ THAT is a car I'd be happy to own, this thing? I'll pass for that price. This wasn't really a collectors car to begin with.

yeah. i mean if it was 38 back in 1990, well its not 2007 so good for them.

do you see GM dealer selling a new 1990 corvette. the late third generation supra is a great car.

A bit of coherence helps when communicating with other people. Just a tip if you want anyone to ever take you seriously...

17 years and the seals suddenly break down? What did he figure they were made of, animal hides?

Rubber gets old and dried out over time, them leaks start. Its happens even more so on an engine that isn't running on a regular basis. I picked up a 1977 Chev Malibu 15 years ago, it had only 12 thousand K on it, within 4 months, all 4 tires blew, and there were leaks all over the place on it.

someone bought this car back in 1990 and took care of it every year to store it.

There are many cars that came out 15, 20, 25 years ago just sitting for show and have sold for a lot of money like this one, even just basic cars.

From I know the third generation supra is a great car and over engineerred. Sure it have a headgasket issue, so does the 4runner, camry etc.

so props to the price. Just becasue its a 1990 supra not a 1992 or 1993 doesnt mean we can start bashing it.

The car really wasn't anything special. At the time it was overpriced, didn't handle particularly well, and it wasn't even the fastest Toyota! The mk3's have never really been saught after cars. They are fun cars to drive and mod but they just aren't unique or special enough to warrant any true classic value.

There is very little that appeals to me about that car considering I can go buy a brand new BMW 335i for the same price and have a 10X better car. The fact that it's old and new doesn't do much for me considering what you can buy now.
