Hey Ron.

Awesome build setup you have going on here. The motor is looking beautiful and I cant wait to see the new color :D. I'm just curious as to what the profiles are on those custom cams u received?

I would have to dig the specs up but unless your running extremely high compression and boost and 2mm+ valves they probably loose power.

I wanted something new and different to set the car apart from the majority of DSM out there. The red in the engine bay well be changed out when I pull the motor to clean everything up prior to final installation.

I completely agree. I have been banned countless times and i am one of the few who actually contributed good information surrounding Honda's. I was consistantly banned for making jokes just like the reg's and the admin singled me out. That site is a joke.

Your build looks great, i'll probably see you out at castrol this year mid summer if you are out there often. I love the engine bay shave btw, looks really clean :) not digging the black rims though. I have never been a fan of black rims.

03-01-2009, 05:23 PM
honestly, i am sure alot of people like them. I am just not a fan of them on any cars. I have seen some cars i think that look pretty good with them but even then i think they could look much better with different colour rims. Just ignore my comment about the colour of them because i am biased.

Your car and engine bay are still

Is your other little vent on the VC just to open air?

And is that a coolant overflow next to your catch can? I'd like to do something with mine, but we have a sensor in our 1gs for low coolant, so I'd have to transfer it to whatever setup I came up with.

Yeah thats who I use, first stuff I ever had ceramic'd so I didn't know what to expect, but the black I had done on my manifold and hotside are pretty delicate, anything touches it, it'll chip/brush off... The powder they did turned out good.. So far anyways.. Have another valve cover sitting there I need to pick up.

Trying to get the car tuned but going to have to re-engineer the wastegates to get them to work! But on 10Psi this thing is already feel very strong, can't wait to see what 45Psi feels like, and oh yeah the nitrous system might come out of hybernation this year to.

Ron@Revolution
08-31-2009, 07:19 PM
UPDATE

The car is and has been running and is tuned. The problem my Synapse wastegates just aren't working for me. In my opinion they are very poorly designed and the quality control is less then I expect not to mention the many different story's I get when I talk to various employees from Synapse. I just forked out the money for 2 new Tial 44mm's and should have the boost cranked shortly. But I well say even at a very low 13 Psi the car is a beast I can't wait to see what 45psi is going to feel like. Ron

New Tial wastegates in the car and starting to tune the car on a pump gas tune.

Ron@Revolution
09-06-2009, 02:16 PM
Here is a quick vid of me doing some tuning of the staged injectors. This pull was from 58Mph or 93 kph to around 96Mph or 154Kph in third on wastegate spring, and pump gas. I'm just rolling into the throttle at first trying to get the transition smoothed out a bit more.

Faster with 5 psi less boost

Ron@Revolution
09-12-2009, 09:49 PM
So to make a long story short took the car to get dyno'd today, and had some technical difficulties. Only made 2 full pulls as the car was loosing either ground or power and resetting the AEM etc... Also never even had a chance to bring the boost up off wastegate spring. Here is a quick vid of the car and hopefully I well get this electrical problem sorted and get he car tuned. I can say the power and timing this E85 is making is crazy!

Ron since the 3sgte and the 4g63 are both 2L 4 cyl what would you recommend for a turbo with decent spool and top end power. I'm running a KKK turbo, basically a k26 hybrid but I'm looking at the gt3071r.

Well went to the track today and besides being cold as hell, had a great time and got to talk to and meet alot of good people. Between the cold, rain cancellation and constant oil downs still managed to set a new PB just two weeks after my last PB. Even though I haven't' had much time to change the tune since I brought on my secondary set of injectors the car is running real rich which is at-least safe. Looks like I also got the clutch problem sorted out finally and something less then a 1.9 60ft.:D Well on to the run. Car went a 9.8@147Mph. This was the same boost setting as my other 150Mph passes but like I said the car is running pig rich and that probably accounted for that few lost Mph. I'm extremely happy with the car and finally getting that elusive 9 second pass. Can't wait for next year. Here is a in car vid of the run enjoy.

Congrats Ron!!!!
The less MPH is more likely due to traction and hook-up on the clutch.
Clutch slipping on the line is like wheelspin, always gives you a false mph.
The weather was perfect too really. Edmonton is an awesome track, the cold air isn't much of a penalty there. Getting good conditions is nice, but you have to be there to take advantage of them. It must be a blast to drive!!!
It's nice to see this come together in time to rip off some great runs before the season ends. The project was cool to watch come together, and will be a force next year for sure. I get the feeling there is a bit left in that beast of yours yet. :burnout:

Most of my lost Mph I think was switching the night before from 4 1600cc inj to 8 1600cc inj and not having enough time to get the AFR right. I had the first set of 1600cc maxed out already. I was mid to high 9 AFR on that pass compared to 11's on the same boost on my 151Mph pass.

Ron@Revolution
11-06-2009, 11:38 PM
Here is a little compilation I did up of the car on the dyno and track. Best Mph this year was 151Mph, best ET was 9.8. Both runs were done on only 28Psi. Considering since switching to staged injectors, and E85 the car has only made a handful of passes I'm very happy and excited to see what next year brings. Thanks to all my sponsors and friends and family. Be safe.

Well since my stock rear axles gave up the ghost after tons of 11, 10 and 9 second passes I figured it was time to setup to the big time. DSS Stage 5 Axle and hub kit :spend: Hopefully these should take the abuse of more power when I start to turn the wick up on the Talon.

Just a random question. Since Edmonton is still quite a bit above sea level, how much more power do you think you'd have at a sea level? It would make a noticeable difference on a car like this wouldn't it?

Oh for sure I would love to get to Mission B.C this year once I get the car tuned on some higher boost and go for some really fast Mph and ET's. I'm guessing for sure a couple tenths and 2-3Mph from what it would do in Ed or Calgary.
