I have a 2005 BMW X5 and I need to get daytime running lights on it. Im thinking the easiest way would be to use the fog lights as the running lights. Can anyone run a relay for me?

The fog lights, low beams, and high beams should all have their own relay in the relay box, if you can squeze a wire from any ign source to the correct pin on the relay, it will keep it on when ever the vehicle is running.

BMW activates the day time running lamps electronically. By justing bypassing a relay (or whatever), i'm pretty sure it will mess something up. Then again, i have no clue, i would just hate to see you mess up your 05 x5

Dunno if this wil work on your car, wire the low beams to something that turns on with the ignition, then un-do it after you pass inspection :)

I'm guessing this is a US import. I don't think BMW gives out recall letters unless THEY turn on the DRL now.

Go the software route. Not worth messing with the electricals on a BMW.

I would but BMW cant book me in until the end of Feb, and I hope to have this sold by then.

Should have gotten it done before coming to Canada. US dealers do it for free!

You could call Sheni's and ask if they can do it with their computer... dunno if they can.
