Does anyone know the deadline for professors to post up official marks from the Fall semester?

I'd like to know as well, none of my grades have been finalized yet.

I always had mine back by the end of the first week of january the week before classes resumed, but have had friends who have waited even longer, even into the winter semester before they had all of theirs:dunno:

I don't think there is, we got some marks back last year really late. Only one of my 6 marks are currently posted.

i think its because of the upgrades that they are doing everyday they prolly told all profs to hold the grades until all upgrades are done. nobody's marks are posted on peoplesoft yet.

Well I guess I'm not the only one, I thought my prof's were just being lazy. I've got 2/6 posted to PeopleSoft, the rest are MIA.

I have one and it's just on blackboard, stupid peoplesoft has nothing yet....

Do full year courses give you a mid-year mark at the end of fall semester or do you just get the grade at the end??

According to a professor it should be Jan 7th

That's kind of shitty for people who might be taking block weeks and needed to know if they passed a prereq or something...

How is it shitty? Jan 7 is the last day to withdraw from block week courses, so if you find out marks that day and don't meet, you can drop it.

Doesn't give you time to switch or anythign though

Full year courses do not get a mid-year mark. You may get some kind of mid-year standing listed on blackboard, but it is nothing that would show up on a transcript or anything, that comes at the end of the year in April. It's not peoplesoft's fault if your mark is not up yet. Most departments require that a clerk or dean or something signs the list of grades before they get submitted to the registrar, and most dept offices close by 4/4:30 each business day.

It's probably a good idea to have an alternative course in mind already if you're that worried about it, so you can do any modification to your registration right away.

Don't worry. If the error is due to a screw up by the prof or the clerk who entered your grades, they should be able to modify it even after the Jan 7 deadline, but it will probably get modified before then if your prof already said something.

As I state above, it's not peoplesoft's fault. Most departments require that the list of grades be signed off on by someone in the department (a clerk or a dean or an administrator or something) who is not the prof before they get submitted to the registrar. This is just to be able to catch any problems (say the prof failed everyone, or a student voiced a concern to the department, or something else).

Only one of my marks are up on peoplesoft, two others the final marks are up on blackboard so it's not that hard to figure out.

does anyone know how you would calculate your marks based on a course that was split into two quarter courses?

menzel

Divide your grade point in each course by two, and then add in to the gpa calculation as normal.

I said that some departments require a grade form with a signature, but I'm not sure that's true for all departments.
