Ok so this is the first time I get to post something like this so forgive me if i ramble a bit. at 1:20 am I was heading west bound on Mcnight Blvd. when I see this guy come flying through the centre street intersection putting his truck sideways as he starts heading east bound on Mcnight. He lost control of the truck, fish tailed, hit the lamp post, went though the fence, and proceeded to hit the house at 1st steet NE.

You should have heard the guy when I called 911 and he was like "ok, did you say a house" any ways heres the pics.

as soon as i got to him, i was like "are you alright" and he was like "yea" and then i was like "are you drunk?" and he was like "... ummm no". when the police got there they put him in the back of one of the cruisers. not sure if that is normal or not.

Don't presume he was drunk. Maybe he swerved to miss a cat, then drank. But a telephone pole indent in his bedside proves it.

They probably put him in the cruiser to fill out a report because it was cold.

Believe it or not, this happens really often in Calgary. (Well, I guess it's been kinda obvious lately with all the hairdressers in the SE being marked targets apparently.)

The calltaker at 911 probably repeated what you said for the benefit of his co-workers (we try to do that so our partners around us know what we're working on, in case they get calls from others reporting the same thing), plus it's a different emergency response for a car vs house compared to a car vs anything else. The heavy rescue structural team is dispatched in case the house has been structurally damaged and needs to be shored up. (Big surprise, buildings don't like to be punched by cars and trucks)

Good pics!

Did he wake up the owners of the house? I drove past that yesterday and saw you and the other guy and that was it.

yea it was an older chinese couple the husband came out after the fire crew left. i kind of feel for the guy, like seriously it would suck so bad to lose such a nice truck and the insurance and everything :(

It's looks a work truck, hence the rear window rack and crank windows. And I don't think the airbags should have gone off, his front end didn't really hit anything, it looks like his whole movement was slideways.

Considering its a work truck and wouldnt have side curtain airbags, would you mind telling me how it would help the driver if the airbag blew up in his face?
