Vert is no good for track imo, however i was looking at an 87 parked in front of a 711. only 200K km less then 10k a year, i dont know fuck all about rotaries though.. hes asking 2grand. Body is in good shape, needs exhaust and waterpump is noisy.

I have a 1985 rx7 GS with a mild street port for sale. 112km on body, approx 4000km on the rebuilt motor. Runs great, body is solid. Can be raced in Challenge class (1st gen rx7s) with a proper roll cage. $1500

Some of the best track cars on the road are convertables.....ie Honda S2000, Mazda Miata

Az far as rotories go, if you don't like it ditch it....go to Grannies Speed shop and get a new engine cradle, drop in a V8 of your choice.....the car is a real killer then, i seen a couple built now. Thats why i was saying it would make a great project.

Difference between the rx7 convertible and miata/s2000 is that the miata and s2000 were originally designed as a convertible, while the rx7 is essentially a coupe made into a convertible. the convertible rx7 won't have the chassis rigidity of a coupe, and it also weighs 400lbs more than a non turbo FC.

I've got a interesting possibility...

1987 Nissan 200SX, the SE V6 model. I imported it from the States in 2002. Lightweight hatch, RWD, 5 speed, no A/C or any weight adding options. It originally came with the VG30E V6 from the 300ZX, but last winter that was pulled and a brand new VG33E V6 from a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder was installed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VG_engine

180hp and 202ft/lbs torque.

Also has a brand new aluminum radiator with electric fan, battery relocated to an NHRA approved box in the back and fuel pump rewired with 10ga wire to the battery.

Body is straight and solid with no penetrating rust. I'd probably want $1500 for it, but you'd have to come grab it from Regina and take it back.

hahah oh wow buddy, the car is only 3064lbs with me in it.
i did 13.1 on street radials and no traction.
what came in the 83 supra was a stock 5mge with about 140hp
the 7mgte is out of a 3500lb car with 232hp stock at 7psi
now in a 3000lb car with upgraded turbo at 18psi
do the math.
and dont fucking talk.

there is some serious potential in that car! Also not to mention the torque numbers on that turbo at that boost would be close to the 400 numbers(probaly around 450-500 depending on supporting mods) And hp would be 350+ . too bad I didn't have the cash that thing would be killer for the track.

blueripper If You can't even do simple math then I doubt you could even build a decent track car.

You need to figure your life out. Go over your statement again, you said, the fact that I cant do math, limits my ability to build cars that go fast. Right.. because all mechanics/car builders/racers/enthusiasts took math pure in highschool. Not, fuck you for throwing your fecal matter of a contribution into this thread.

Im looking for a car to autocross, drift, and rip around in... I dont want your car because it goes fast in a straight line, even if it is a 3500lb supra. LOL imagine the body roll on that sucka

Go to Germantown, fanboy.
Pick up an E30 325i sedan or coupe with non-structural rust.

If this is going to be a real track ONLY Car you can pick up such a vehicle for under $2k and there's huge support of track going e30's (spare parts, advice etc).

I got an 86 e30 that ran great, before i rolled it. Can't get it started now. It would need roof repair, and has a little front end damage, plus a new windshield and drivers window. Has surface rust, but hasn't penetrated. If you can find a way to get it out of my driveay in Banff,, its yours for free.
