Should I get the faster harddrive 7200 RPM instead of 5400, how much of a difference will it make?

you should be able to get the same system in a 14.1 inch screen for about the same price. I was looking at getting the same myself (in 14.1") before christmas but I really wanted a touch screen tablet lol so I ended up gettin an hp.

The processor on that dell is supposed to be really fast, combined with 3GB memory and that graphics card, you should have no problems at all. Mind you however, the battery life won't be too long. You should try to get the extended battery with it (I think they have a 9 cell or something for 40 bucks more)

^My bad .. I just read the battery description.. but still.. not sure if 9 cell will provide more than 2 or 2.5 hours of battery life.

The reason why I chose this laptop specifically was because I don't want something totally obsolete.

Pricing is another factor.

Any advice about the hard drive. Is 120 GB enough now or do I need 160 GB? I don't currently download movies, I might if I get one. I'm sure I won't be downloading alot of movies.

56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery [subtract $40]
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery [Included in Price]
6-cell Primary Battery and 9 -cell additional Lithium Ion Battery [add $59 or $2/month1]
9-cell Primary Battery and 9 -cell additional Lithium Ion Battery [add $99 or $3/month1]

Well those are my options. I'm currently selecting the second one.

Also, is it worth getting Business or Ultimate edition of Window Vista?

Upgraded battery sticks out the back and will piss you off.

You should also check into the 1500 series inspirons they are magnesium now and are very well built machines, im typing on one now :) (1720 inspiron)

The battery I selected sticks out the back, are you sure?

What do you mean SB software?

I'm contemplating on getting a MAC. Any suggestions?
