Nay.
Dude, if you want to get into car audio, FS/BB is not really a good place to get your stuff from.
Personally, I would go to a specialized store *focused on car audio*. I'm not saying thats not a good price for the sub in question; i'm just saying that for $3oo you can get a better product somewhere else. My suggestion? Take a look at the Alpine Type R's. JL is great for first timers, so is Hertz. Both have a broad range of prices and products to help you meet your budget. I'd only hit Alpine subs if you're looking for massive bass, and Type R stuff isn't cheap. Look to lower end Alpine if on a budget, but only for subwoofers. Pick something else for the rest of you speakers.

I realize MTX isn't the best brand, I was just looking for something priced decent and a place to install it. I'm sure I would be able to do it myself if I spent a weekend with a lot of patience but I don't really have the time or patience to try lol.

I'm not really on a budget but I don't want to spend more than 8-900 for the subs and amp and maybe the install..

Suggestions? Those Type-Rs look pretty expensive..

If you're in that price range, I'd take Hertz prebuilt box, like the EBX300R and the Audison SRx 1D amp . You should be able to get it for that much, I think. It'd pound like you wouldn't believe at 500W and you could probably install that yourself.
