Looking for a Western Digital Caviar SATA 160GB HD

Must be model WD1600JD-55HBB0

or if anyone knows a good supplier for WD printed circuit boards (PCBs) a reward is offered for information resulting in the acquisition of beforementioned WD1600JD-55HBB0

I know its a shot in the dark here, but I am hoping that someone on here purchased one of these from MemoryExpress between Dec 2004 - Dec 2006.

Thanks!

Might have better luck getting in touch with WDC, those drives should come with 3yr warranty, maybe they'd do out-of-warranty service or just send you the controller board. They do advanced replacement with a CC as well...

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately it states on WD's website they do not supply replacement PCB's and they will only refer you to their preferred data recovery companies (mucho $$$).

I have a line on a PCB that should work but if anyone on here thinks they have a 160gb WDC lemme know

I have a 160, pretty sure it's a WD, but I'm unsure on model number.

I'll look when I get home.

If its dead, it more than likely has a burnt out motor control chip just like mine.. (source (http://wd1200jb.freewebspace.com/)) http://wd1200jb.freewebspace.com/images/hd_full.jpg
And because your code is XXFYB0 instead of XXHBB0 it more than likely will not work with my drive ..but I appreciate the offer anyways!

Just posting this so if anyone else gets/has this problem it won't take them an hour to find the right answer..
