You can make lots of money, but also loose lots, it's alot different then live poker...

Good luck, stick to your stakes and know when to quit!

Most sites offer a "play" area where you can sign up and not have to play for real money. I would suggest doing this if you've never played poker before. It'll be a great way to learn the game.

There are so many poker sites out there... if you want a simple one... www.pokerstars.net.

For those of you that like home games. A very good program is Tournament Director 2. Easy to use and looks after everything. Gives a nice summary for each game. Here's from my last home game (last night)

HAhahaha...I know eh? some kinda casino I am!! I even had a spread of food last night that cost me well over $100!!! Good thing I did alright at the cash game.
Tourney wasn't good to either Heather or me. She got her aces cracked by a straight on the river, and then low chip-stacked went all in with pocket Q's...only to have pocket Aces and pocket Kings in the same hand...Aces held up of course that time.

I came out about $90 up in the cash game. went til 3:00 am.h

Nice nice, yeah I played last night as well, probably again tonight too.

Stampede 1-2nl, had a good night. Probably home ring or tourney tonight, not sure.

You are too generous when it comes to that shit, I mean, once in a while sure, but you're HOSTING, and bringing food... too much.

I would feel like a complete cad if I attended your games and didn't pitch a bit towards the food.

Unacceptable if you ask me.

Sounds like a good time.

I'm always willing to donate if you're looking for new players. Just pm me when the next game is!

Always love to have new ones come to my games. Too hard to remember to PM everyone thats interested. I posted this one:
home poker tourney (http://forums.beyond.ca/st/202841/home-poker-tourney/) but didn't get any responses.

But, by all means, come on down for the next one. I'll keep cross-posting here from our poker site, so just keep a lookout. It's pretty good poker. Always a decent sized pot($600-$1000) and the cash game is .25/.50.
