That was against Ruutu...remember..the shit disturber from Vancouver who everyone said couldn't/wouldn't drop the gloves with anyone? I dunno, I still enjoy the fight in the 1987 world junior hockey Canada vs Russia. They even turned the lights off in the stadium for a while and in pitch black they continued to fight. Solid fight. Expecially since Canada destroyed Russia in the fight.

^^^ Oh yeah!!! That was one hella rivalry!! All thanks to Claude Lemiuex's cowardly hit on Draper!!! Pretty much lost all his teeth on that hit. Nothing better than to watch McCarty come back and beat the ever lovin shit outta Lemieux! And Vernon beating up Roy was nice to watch too.

Man, what a game that was, McCarty beats the everliving shit out of Lemiuex and still scores the OT winner.

The Punch Up In Piestany was fun to watch, back in those days nobody had equipment six inches thick and fights were pretty raw.

Haha, I thought it was kinda odd how this far into a hockey fight thread and that fight wasn't even mentioned. That's the easily first thing I think of when I hear the words "hockey brawl"

Shame with what's happened to McCarty over the years, what with the divorce, bankruptcy, alcoholism, mixed with a bit of a gambling problem. That last year with the Flames being out for most of the season with the sports hernia was the finishing touch on his pro career. Hopefully he can make a comeback though.
