The I6 in the TJ are FAST... but I think they're out of your price range at the moment... the late models YJ's had the same straight 6 i think.

Softops are nice in the summer, shitty in the winter, and NOISY over 80KM/h... i honestly dont know if a hardtop is any quieter, i never had one :( but nothing is cooler than cruising on a hot summer day with the roof and doors off! But wear your seatbelt, its easy to fall out!

I have a 98 Cheeroke with the 4.0L inline six. It makes decent power but its (really) noisy, crude and uses a pile of gas. TJ might be better.

difference between yj and tj is mainly the body and lights and somethin else to do with the body. shit man i just sold my yj yesterday for 8 g's. it had 2 inch lift 33 tires u know the works for an offroading king. anyways you can look for a stock tj for around 9 g's but if 8 is your limit then you would have to get a yj. i personally find yj's better looking. anyways the 4.0 i had was a beast since i had 33 inch tires on. i got around 350 km on a 60l tank of gas. the one with the zip windows are for either generation. its just the soft top style. for winter a hard top is a must. and just go buy a soft top for summer! or else no roof at all. so far the jeeps that have gotten recognition are the yj renegades which i had because there engine was one of the best built buy jeep and the new jeep tj rubicon because of its already legendary offroading capabilites right out from the factory. pm if you want to know anythin more

yes the yj's engines are better then the cherokees and no a i6 isnt fast. my inline 6 was pusing maybe 190 hp with the upgrades. a stock tj is pushing 190 with no upgrades. but considering how heavy they are they will get destroyed by a honda civic sir that is.

:D :D dreaming my JEEP mod in future.

of course want to be the one in new tomb raider. too cool man
but, it is exspensive to be like it.

my own idea:
HID head light
clear signal (just don't like any light is orange)
PIAA fog light on top
huge front bumper
a second gas tank on rear (same as JEEP in army)

can't wait. to sell my car and buy it.

no it costs 40 bucks to fill up on gas. if you do go buy a jeep go to the dealship and get a used one or go get a 150 piont inspection from the jeep dealership so they know what is wrong and see if you get a decent price!
