do they not come with powersteering standard? can you add power steering to it if it doesnt?

to the mr2 owners: how is it like with no powersteering?

US cars came available with electrohydraulic steering, IIRC, canadian cars had no power steering at all. I love the ehs because its the best of both worlds..power steering when you need it in a parking lot and great response and feedback in the corners when you dont need it.

yah.. need the rack, the steering column, the reservoir in the frunk... plus parts would cost a fortune. Huge pain

i never knew the canadian spec didnt have power steering... wow. I am pretty sure the gt model from japan all had power steering (not sure about the limited g and the gt-s though)

Redlyne_mr2 is correct, no Cdn spec 91-93 MR2s came with ehps from the factory. Mine doesn't have it but once the car's moving you don't notice it much. I looked into installing the entire setup several years back but decided against it. The cheapest way would prob be to source a front clip.

Once the car is going, the steering on my 91 is lighter than my 2005 Legacy GT. But parallel parking.. Ya it's a good workout... And worse if you just came from the gym. My advice for these cars is to not get anything wider than 205 tires in the front. That helps out tremendously. Anything wider seems to dull the steering and also makes the wheel "heavier".

For feedback, there is absolutely NO BEATING the f/b from no power steering. Perfect for the track and for having fun.

No power steering ftw. Any sort of power steering just makes you lazy and dry steer. :thumbsdow Roll a little any time you're turning and you'll never care about power steering ever again. (In an MR2 it's lighter than usual already anyhow!)

i have p/s and i dont enjoy it one bit.. ive tried driving an mr2 without it.. much better.. but just harder to turn at lower speeds.. but thats something that should be too much of a bother
