I bought this car in June 2007. Never tracked this car, just enjoyed the summer with the top down. I bought this car for the convertible factor as well as the SMG factor. I love the transmission in the car, the BEST part of the car by far, but unfortunately, I hate BMWs, and have found a non BMW convertible that I'm hoping to pick up shortly. Don't get me wrong, BMW's are great handling cars... I just need more power. A LOT more power haha.
First off, the factory options:
SMG Transmission
Cold weather package (heated seats, headlamp washers)
Park Distance Control
HK Premium Audio System
Windscreen
As with my other cars, I've added a few basic modifications to the car:
Replica AC Schnitzer Carbon Fiber Front Lip
Replica AC Schnitzer Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser
H&R Springs
Koni Yellow Shocks, tuned for neutral handling
Pioneer AVIC-Z2 bypassed w/80G hard drive (enough to load 1000 CD's, can watch movies while driving)
Carbon Fiber Dash Kit
19" Beyern Type Fives
Resonator Added to exhaust
It's a real fun car, but I've been hooked on HP before, and I can't turn down a 700hp beast haha. The SMG transmission is the best part of the car, it allows you to row through gears like a pro. It has launch control, just an amazing transmission. It takes time to get used to (about a day or 2), once you've got it down, it's the best of both auto vs manual world. Not to mention downshifts sounds completely ridiculous, since I installed the resonator to eliminate the rasp... the exhaust tone is 10000x better than stock. Car still has full engine warranty on it till 2009. I've done 2 oil changes at BMW on the car already, once after the drive back from Chicago, and once before parking it for the winter. The dealer also changed the oil before I bought the car, so it's been basically changed 3 times in the last 8 months.
Since I don't drive this car in winter, there's no test drives, unless the weather is really good, and only on roads with zero gravel. The car is available for viewing anytime. It's parked right now.
Oh ya, the price is obo, I'm flexible on moving a little bit on the price since I'm almost ready to pick up the other car.
