If you buy a new one , the government gives you $1000. You offer no incentive over walking to the dealership and buying it brand new. 2008 Fits qualify for the eco program now.

In addition to the government's rebate for all manual transmission-equipped Fit models, Honda Canada is offering a $750 "gasoline card" for all automatic transmission-equipped 2008 Fit models.

you will not be able to get the 1000$ rebate from the goverment if you take this over because your name does not appear on the official lease documents when the car was new. So when you fill out the eco rebate forms your name will not match the paperwork you will provide them.

Is this car in Calgary or Toronto? Purchased/registered in Alberta or Ontario?

Is it registered in Ontario too? That means that since this is mainly a Calgary forum, someone would have to spend over $1000 to ship it here, plus take it to get an OOP? (assuming it should pass easily since it's so new).

If this is the case, I think you are going to have to offer more than $1000 as the incentive to Calgary buyers. I think you will be better to find a local buyer in Toronto.
