Whats up?
I am gonna be getting around 9-10 grand by about oct/nov...
I have no car now, and I am TRYING my hardest to come to a conclusion about what to settle with... I am not much of a Domestic fan at all.... and I want something that is good for Calgary weather, in the above price range, must have tunerability, and be reliable. Keep in mind that I would like to have some cash left over to drop it, rim it, and exhaust from tip to tail... The thing is, I have gotten really picky about everything I look at... I can sit at an intersection and say no to pretty much any car that rolls through it...
So I am just wondering want you guys would do, and if you have any words of wisdom...

TIA

P.S.
No one post that I should get a civic...

Civic hatch. Relatively cheap, slow, reliable, and tuneable.

I say you have the money before you start looking
Cause I think I am going to have $1million by Oct of 2010 and I think I'm gonna get a McLaren F1 or whatever

It doesn't matter what you decide today, or tomorrow, or next month because you will change your mind over and over and over and over again. That's just the way it is!!

you can get a decent integra (maybe 94-95 ish) for about 10 grand...super reliable, decent potential with the b18b...won car of the year countless times...over all a "cant lose" car.

i dont think you should limit yourself to ONE make/model! when it comes time to go out and look for that car you might find that either there aren't any on the market or the ones that are aren't in the shape/color/trim that you want...for me it took three months of looking for a car and by accitdent i sumbled over this neon and got it(part of the reason was coz i couldn't find anything else and this one was in good shape)...before that i never even thought of ever owning one...something to keep in mind

i don't think an Integra is a Civic... LOL
the 94+ Integra is at the top of my list, but I do not want to block alot of other potentials out.. thats for sure... I just don't want a civic.... (no offence to Civic owners)...
The only domestic that I am thinking about is the Ford Focus SVT. and then mod it Rally Style... but that is a BIG dream...
anyways... keep the suggestions coming guys,,, thanks

a gen 2 teg would leave you with plenty of money to spare for aftermarket parts. There's still a good few to be had with lower km's :)

1g awd DSM... great in winter, unlimited tuneability, and fairly reliable (if stock to moderately tuned).

i would also consider a 1G DSM. AWD or FWD (i have one already). But make sure it's a turbo model. You can pick one up for 5k, for 2k you can fix it up nicely, timing belt, seals, clutch etc. or whatever it may need for a 10 year old car and the remaining 2k can be used for mods. Why by a slow car and put in thousands to make it go semi-fast, when you can buy a fast car right off the bat.

Or you could spend the whole 9k and try and find a good deal on a 2G DSM.
