Broken Door Lock

So my girlfriend was getting out of my car as per usual and she locked/closed the door to on my Talon. We leave the store and I can't unlock the door anymore, so we can't open the door. She had to crawl in from my seat.

I'm not too sure what happened here. When I hit the power lock switch I can hear the actuator trying to do something in the door, but the lock handle itself inside the car WILL NOT BUDGE no matter what I try to do.

Any ideas what happened and what I need to do to fix it?

If it was left out in the cold, the actuator can try but the lock might literally be frozen.

It happened to a buddy of mine when we left it at the zoo lights for a couple of hours. he just drove it with the heat cranked and it went back to normal.
