I don't know how anyone could think Meet The Spartans would've looked funny from the previews.

The only decent parody movies were Airplane!*, Naked Gun, and Spaceballs. Those Scary Movie movies were retarded and even worse were the parody movies that followed it (ie: Date Movie, Epic Movie, etc....)

The fact that people thought even the previews were funny depresses me. Even Scary Movie and its sequels were pretty poor parody's, but ever since their success the crap that has been coming out is just an insult to the industry (and that is saying something).

Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Spaceballs, Hot Shots, Airplane, Naked Gun and Don't Be a Menace.... were parodies. Now they just come out with crap. It used to take talent to come up with a parody, now it takes a bunch of idiots stealing lines from a random hodge-podge of movies, mashing them together and calling it a satire on the genre.
