Does anyone have any knowlege with home alarm systems. We just moved into a new place and there is currently a alarm system installed. The previous owners disconnected the monitoring and im not sure if i will hook up monitoring. However i would like to wipe out their passwords and put in my own as the system has a audible alarm. Is there anyway to do this without having a alarm company come out and do it? I would assume i need a master code or something?

The alarm is a Ademco Vista Series.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Try to find out who installed it (i.e. Admenco themsewlves, or other distributor). They should have the master code. Or call the manufacturer.

Or consult the manual if there is one, most likely you can change all the codes, but you just have to punch in the old one first, then reset it all...much like changing you PIN number at a bank Machine.

There is a sticker on the alarm for AAA, im sure they monitored it in the past. I have browsed the manual it's basically a user guide, im guessing they wouldnt put in advanced programing for everyone.

I will continue to browse the web for a master code and see what i can find, thanks for the input.
