Well finally decided to get rid of the ol home PC. Would rather get a laptop that i can take around with me when required.

The stats are below, they are a copy out of the System Configurator off of the MemX site.

If I get enough interest for individual parts I'm willing to part out, just don't want to be left with a bunch of pieces in the end. If interested in an individual piece the current market prices are listed below, shoot me an offer and we'll see how it goes.

Am hoping for just a bit over 60%.

Depends on your idea of faster. The CPU per CPU is only 2.4ghz but there are 4, depending on the program and if it supports multiply cpu's it could be faster, but for most games they only support single so my 3ghz would be faster.

The graphics card with that system is also pretty awful in comparison.

Other then that there are a lot of similarities with that system, all in all mine will definitely come with a better motherboard, that has probably one of the best integrated audio chipsets you can get.

Oh and that acer computers video card after search is apparently a notebook video card. Probably not greatest performance.

Thx. So in normal operations, the Dual Core Quad is faster than DCore 2 Duo (word processing, no gaming). Right?

For operations that can take advantage of multiply CPUs 4 cpus is better than 2. Word processing would rarely exceed limitations of a single core.

But both those systems may possibly have the worst video cards currently available on the market. May possibly.

While the HD 3850 that comes with my system supports HDMI out and also can perform audio processing to output through the HDMI cable as well.

No. Clockspeed always trumps number of cores unless the software you are using is specifically made to take advantage of the multiple CPUs.

Software made for multi-cores typically includes games, media encoders, and professional drafting modelling applications.

For your intended purpose, two cores at a faster speed and a PC made of good components is probably a better choice.

Even as far as games go the only ones i know that take advantage of multiply cores thats I've actually played were games based on the source engine.

Willing to entertain reasonable offers on components, if i get enough people looking for pieces i could part out.
